This is a reminder that tomorrow (Tuesday, August 7, 2018) in Detroit is Election Day. Don’t miss your opportunity to vote! The polls will be open from 7am to 8pm. Locate your poll or review your ballot by following the link at the bottom.

Below are a few of the many practical benefits to voting:

1. Voting gives you an opportunity to weigh in on policies affecting those you care about (including yourself!).

2. Believe it or not, voting also strengthens your community’s voice. It’s true that some decision makers give priority to communties that have a demonstrated voting record. Election Day is always a good time to build your community’s record and put it on the map!

3. Your decision to vote increases the likelihood that others around you will also vote! Sometimes, we just need a reminder or that gentle but affirming nudge.

4. Going to vote gives you the opportunity to connect (and excahnge brief but interesting conversations and observations) with other voters and folks within your community. Here’s a chance to get more connected where you live.
