Are you a Michigan student pursuing a career in behavioral health? The Michigan Behavioral Health Internship Stipend Program (MI-BHISP) offers eligible students up to $15,000 to support unpaid internships within Michigan’s public behavioral health system.

You may qualify if you are a current Michigan resident, enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program leading to a career as a social worker, professional counselor, psychologist, marriage and family therapist, or behavior analyst, and have secured an unpaid internship with a public behavioral health organization in Michigan.

Join like-minded health professions students from across Michigan for two-years of interprofessional training.

We offer conference reimbursement for our students, and the opportunities to connect with the national AHEC Scholars network.

Behavioral Health Internship Opportunity

Are you preparing for a career in behavioral health and passionate about supporting children and families? Up to $15,000 in internship funding may be available through the Michigan Behavioral Health Internship Stipend Program (MI-BHISP)!

MI-BHISP supports eligible students completing bachelor’s or graduate-level programs leading to careers as:

• Psychologists

Save the date: In collaboration with non-profit Face Addiction Now, the Wayne State University School of Medicine’s Street Medicine Detroit student organization will host its second annual Overdose Awareness Day: Remembering Lives, Celebrating Recovery event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 30 at 4th Street Charlotte Park, 3008 4th Street, in Detroit.

Attendees can bring written messages and photos of their loved ones to attach to a memorial like this one from last year's event.
