Tonight I sat and listened to my husband speak during a family support group, and once again, I found myself in awe.
Every time I think he can't possibly inspire me more, he proves me wrong.
Listening to him share his experience, strength, hope, and compassion with families who are watching someone they love struggle with addiction brought me to tears.
Addiction is not just a disease that affects one person—it is a family disease. The parents, spouses, children, siblings, and loved ones often carry their own pain, fear, heartbreak, and uncertainty. Their healing matters too.
I also want to give a special thank you to Todd, who facilitated tonight's group and who was my husband's therapist while he was in treatment.
Years ago, Todd helped guide my husband through some of the most difficult moments of his life. The impact he made then continues to ripple outward today.
There are people who come into your life for a reason, and Todd is one of them. His compassion, guidance, and dedication to helping others didn't just help save my husband's life—it helped save our life together. For that, I will always be grateful.
Tonight was a beautiful reminder that recovery is possible, families can heal, and hope is never lost when people are willing to help carry the message.
My heart is full. ❤️
