🎉 Kicking off this Labor Day weekend with an Employee Spotlight! 🎉

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Naquisha Campbell 🌟

Meet Naquisha, our dedicated Job Developer at the Maple Street Work Release Program here at Connecticut Renaissance!

Naquisha has been with CTR for 2 years and 8 months, and during that time, she has continued to grow within the organization. She has served in several roles, including Intake Coordinator, Case Manager, Case Aide, and now Job Developer.

In her current role, Naquisha assists clients who have recently been released from incarceration as they work toward successfully reintegrating into the community. She helps connect clients with resources to obtain necessary identification, assists with resumes, and works with them to create career development plans with measurable and achievable goals, all with the goal of fostering greater independence.

💬 Proudest Moment at CTR:

“One of my proudest moments at CTR is being able to grow within the company. I have worked multiple positions, from Intake Coordinator to Case Manager to Case Aide to now Job Developer.”

💬 What She Enjoys Most:

Naquisha enjoys networking with community providers and advocating for CTR clients. Whether she’s connecting with organizations or participating in roundtable meetings, she keeps one important question at the forefront:

“What can you do to help Maple Street?” 💙

Outside of work, Naquisha enjoys spending time with her children and close friends, listening to music, and, in her own words, “just being happy.” 😊

Thank you, Naquisha, for your dedication to our clients, your passion for advocacy, and your commitment to growing alongside Connecticut Renaissance. We’re grateful to have you on our team! 🙌

💜 Before International Overdose Awareness Day comes to a close, we pause to remember.

We remember the lives lost to overdose. We hold space for the families, friends, and communities who carry those losses with them. And we stand with those who are still struggling, seeking help, and working toward recovery.

At Connecticut Renaissance, we know that behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a story.

Overdose does not discriminate. Neither should compassion.

Tonight, we remember those we’ve lost, support those who are still here, and continue the work toward a future where fewer lives are lost to overdose.

There is hope. There is help. Recovery is possible. 💜

💙 A little something worth watching this weekend.

KC Davis shares during her TED talk such a valuable perspective on self-care, mental health, and giving ourselves permission to let go of the pressure to do everything perfectly.

As you move through your weekend, remember: sometimes a little grace goes a long way.

🎥 Definitely worth the watch.

Just 2 milligrams of fentanyl can be potentially lethal. An amount small enough to fit on the tip of a pencil.

Today, on National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day, we recognize the importance of education, prevention, and knowing the risks.

We remember the lives lost, stand with the families and communities impacted, and continue working toward greater awareness, access to treatment, and recovery.

Knowledge can save lives. 💙

✨ Client Story Spotlight: Ray ✨

Recovery is a journey — one day at a time.

Ray has faced significant challenges with both substance use and physical health, making his recovery journey especially complex. Despite frequent hospital visits and ongoing pain, he has made the courageous decision to avoid narcotic prescriptions, knowing how critical that choice is for maintaining his sobriety.

This path isn’t easy, but Ray’s resilience continues to shine. He leans on the coping skills and relapse-prevention strategies he’s developed with us at CT Renaissance, staying committed to both his health and recovery.

We’re proud to support Ray as he moves forward — one step at a time. 💛
