Democracy thrives when communities come together! 🤝 That was the powerful message our staff brought back from the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven’s 2025 Annual Meeting.

From the opening Bomba performance by Movimiento Cultural Afro-Continental to the thought-provoking panel discussion, the evening was filled with inspiration and practical wisdom about strengthening civic engagement at the local level.

Last evening, our team attended an artist talk at the Housatonic Museum of Art featuring Iyaba Ibo Mandingo. He provided a captivating overview of "Arwe Journey: Twentieth-Century Afri-Caribbean Migration," which tells the powerful story of the Windrush Generation through his impressive sixty-one-part painting series.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, our work involves partnering with social impact organizations and self-led organizations, such as the Nicole Ilunga Foundation. Together, we strive to empower local entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on female entrepreneurs, by strengthening their digital literacy skills and providing them with access to diverse digital platforms and resources. Our aim is to assist them in developing sustainable business models that not only generate income but also allow them to leverage their artistic talents and make a positive difference in their communities.
