We are saddened to share the obituary of Michael E. Pacowta, a longtime leader and friend of the Valley community.

Mike dedicated much of his life to serving others and strengthening the communities he called home. His years of leadership in public service, business, and at Valley United Way left a lasting mark on our region.

We invite our friends and followers to read more about Mike’s remarkable life, service, and legacy.

Our thoughts remain with his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

✏️ A notebook may seem small. To a student, it's a fresh start.

As summer comes to an end, thousands of Valley students still need basic school supplies before the first bell rings.

Right now, our greatest needs include: 🎒 Backpacks 📓 Notebooks 📚 Composition books 📁 Folders 💧 Water bottles ✏️ Pens and pencils 🎧 Headphones

We've been amazed by the support we've received so far, but demand is higher than ever and we need our community's help to reach the finish line this week!

Today we remember Michael E. Pacowta, a dedicated leader and champion for the Valley community. Mike was a well known figure within the Valley community and served as President of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce from 1991 through 1994, and as Mayor of The City of Shelton from 1985 through 1991. He also served for several years as President of the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce and CEO of the Valley United Way.

Through his service at Valley United Way and throughout a distinguished career in public and community leadership, Mike touched countless lives and helped strengthen our region. We honor his legacy and extend our deepest sympathies to his loved ones.
