In 2008, Get HOPE's founder felt called to do something very practical with her teaching, business and mission experience. She developed a business-training curriculum, focusing on the many character qualities she’d taught over the years. But it wasn’t for high-powered executives. It was for those in deepest need – the oppressed and underprivileged women she had met throughout her international travels. Basics of Business was born. It was followed by a microfinance program and two other training programs for use in various settings. This biblically-based business training has changed the lives of women and girls by giving them hope, tools, training – and the dignity of a chance.

Ikunze has experienced hurt and rejection from people she trusted, including people in the church. Through HOPE, she has learned to forgive and found a new community of women to walk alongside. 💛

🌱 **Meet our : Ikunze 🇹🇿**

What do you do when the people you trusted are the ones who hurt you?

For Ikunze, that included people in the church. Some friends borrowed money and never returned it. Others treated her as though she didn't belong. She had plenty of reasons to pull away.

Instead, through Get HOPE Global, Ikunze learned to forgive, understand people better, and let go of the hurt she had been carrying. 💛

Today, she is part of a community of women building a farming co-op together, growing rice, maize, and beans while creating new opportunities for their families.

The story that began with broken trust is becoming a story of forgiveness, community, and hope. 🌿

Pendo survived a car accident that nearly took her life, but two members of her family did not. Since then, traveling for business has been difficult for her. Now, she is finding courage again as she steps into a new opportunity through the HOPE program.

**What if a business opportunity could change more than a woman’s income? 💛**

A loan can help a woman provide for her family. Training can give her the skills to build something sustainable.

But what if, through that same opportunity, she also begins to see how faith shapes the way she works, leads, dreams, and lives?

Jesus cared about the whole person. He met people in the realities of everyday life and drew them into the life of the Kingdom.

**Meet Pendo, our Woman of the Week from Tanzania! 🇹🇿💛**

Pendo was once in a car accident that nearly took her life. Two members of her family died in the accident, and afterward, the thought of traveling for business became frightening.

But Pendo is finding courage again.

Through the HOPE program, she has found an opportunity to work alongside other women, learn new skills, and continue providing for her family. She is now part of a group producing colorful batik fabrics and clothing, building a business together and reaching new customers in their community.

Pendo is wise and loves learning new things. After all she has experienced, she is choosing to step into something new, trusting that God has more ahead for her.

**Meet Christina, our Woman of the Week from Tanzania! 🇹🇿💛**

Christina is 23, loves to dance, and is eager to learn.

She has experienced difficult changes in her young life. After losing her grandfather, Christina now lives with her grandmother, while her family has faced its own challenges and uncertainty. Through it all, there is still joy in Christina’s story.

Through the HOPE program, she has found a new opportunity to learn, connect with other women, and grow her skills. She is now part of a group producing colorful batik fabrics and clothing, with a growing market in local schools and the community.

Christina is stepping into a new season with a willingness to learn, a desire to build a future, and, of course, a love for dance. We’re excited to see where this next chapter takes her!

At 54, Laurencia is working hard to provide for her family. After her husband left three years ago, she began washing clothes in the streets to earn an income and continues to hold onto hope for a more stable future.

Now, Laurencia is bringing her determination and experience to a new opportunity. She is part of a group of women producing beautiful batik fabrics and clothing, and she plans to contribute by helping bring in a trained fabric producer to strengthen their work.

Laurencia is more than a participant in this business. She is a team player who encourages the women around her and helps keep the group moving forward.

Meet Mwaikenda, our Woman of the Week from Tanzania! 🇹🇿💛

For many years, Mwaikenda worked in a cotton ginnery, building a livelihood through an industry that supported her community. When the cotton industry collapsed, the work she depended on disappeared, leaving her facing years of financial hardship and difficult circumstances.

But Mwaikenda is still moving forward.

Today, she is learning new skills and stepping into a new opportunity with a group of women producing beautiful batik fabrics and clothing. The business already has a growing market, including local schools and community members, with plans to reach even more customers.

Mwaikenda has walked through a difficult season, but her story is still being written. We’re grateful for the opportunity to see her equipped for what comes next.

Salome has worked as a cook for the past two years, and she's eager to keep learning and growing. Through the HOPE program, she has gained new friends, new skills, and new confidence as she looks toward greater opportunities for her family.
