English Learning Center (formerly Central Denver Language School) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, independent English as a Second Language (ESL) program. It was developed by a group of educational and administrative volunteers. It is open to all who want to learn English. We endeavor to be the very best English language program and to practice and promote respect among the students, the faculty and the
administrators. Because all our teacher are volunteers, we are able to offer English instruction for less than $1.00/hour. The English Learning Center offers an English educational program for students who seek to develop and enhance their English speaking skills. We strive to provide excellent instruction to students in a supportive and respectful environment that maximizes faculty-student interaction. The ELC program is unique in its commitment, administrative experience and previous educational accomplishments. We have more than thirty teachers who, collectively, have over 150 years of experience teaching ESL. Additionally, several teachers have received awards for outstanding performance in the field of ESL. All teaching staff is voluntary and draws experience from medicine, law, engineering, education, business, as well as certified ESL educators. These varied backgrounds and in depth experiences are instrumental in teaching our students the language skills necessary to function in our complex society. ELC is widely known as Denver's friendly, affordable language school. We believe that each student who enrolls in our school is motivated to learn English. We strive to keep our classes small and interactive in order to provide a quality learning experience in a comfortable atmosphere. Our job is to foster and support their goals and to provide a welcoming learning environment.
