The Denver Women’s Chorus was founded in 1984 with the goal of building community through music. With 130 united voices, DWC is a multigenerational treble chorus dedicated to musical excellence, building community and advocating for social justice.

Still thinking about what a special evening we had at DIVA After Dark! 💙

For our first gig of the season, Take Note! had the joy of representing the Denver Feminist Chorus and performing music by some of the very artists celebrated in the Denver Art Museum’s DIVA exhibition, alongside so many other songs we love. It’s not often that we get to sing surrounded by the stories and legacies of artists who have shaped music and culture in such meaningful ways.

We’re so grateful to Denver Art Museum for inviting us to be part of this beautiful celebration of music, artistry, and the divas who have paved the way. What a privilege to share our voices in their company. ✨

Happy International Le***an Day! 🧡🤍🩷

Our chorus wouldn’t exist as we know it without the le****ns who came before us. It seems only fitting to celebrate them with the words of Sappho.

In this excerpt from Fragments from Sappho, we sing:

“Afrodite, come to me and be my ally in arms!”

More than 2,500 years later, those words still resonate with a chorus rooted in q***r community and solidarity. We’re proud of our le***an history and the legacy we continue to carry forward.

And yes, we sang it in the original Greek. And yes, it was HARD. 😅

Rehearsals are underway for Be My Neighbor and this song had to be on the setlist!

This concert centers the lived experiences of immigrants in America. Because being a neighbor means showing up for the people around you, no matter where they came from.

It took us a day or so to dig up the footage but we simply must honor the life and legacy of Dolly. 🦋

There will never be another Dolly Parton. She gave us music that moved us, a heart that never judged, and decades of unwavering support for the q***r community when many others stayed silent. For a feminist chorus made up of LGBTQIA+ folks and allies, her loss hits close to home. 💕

Why do we still need Pride?

Well, the comment section answered that one for us.

These are comments left on some of our recent videos. Some are cruel, some are threatening, and some are just people telling us to be quieter, smaller, or less visible.

We’re not interested in doing any of those things. We refuse to be quiet or ashamed. And we absolutely refuse to let hate have the last word.

They won’t stop our joy. Happy Pride! 🌈
