May is Allergy and Asthma Awareness Month. Tens of millions of people in the U.S. are sensitized to common fragrance ingredients, yet fragrance chemicals are still widely used in everyday products.

Fragrance allergies and sensitivities can trigger asthma flareups, coughing, wheezing, rashes, and skin irritation.

Join the Diaper Ingredient Project. Your photos can help identify potentially harmful ingredients in diapers and incontinence products and support safer products for families.

New York’s diaper ingredient disclosure law, which took effect in December 2025, is the first law in the U.S. requiring manufacturers of diapers and adult incontinence products to list ingredients on packaging. The law creates an important opportunity to better understand what ingredients are present in these products. This project will also help examine how the law is being implemented, identify gaps in disclosure, and strengthen the case for safer products.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, we’re changing the conversation around menstrual hygiene.
Hygiene is not about masking our bodies with fragrances or buying into shame-based marketing.

Brands like Summer's Eve profit from making people with vaginas feel “unclean” while selling products that can contain harmful chemicals, including boric acid.
Real menstrual hygiene means rejecting stigma, challenging harmful messaging, and making sure everyone has access to safe, affordable period and intimate care products.

Applications are open for Weave’s 2026-27 Weavers Fellowship cohort!

We’re looking for passionate organizers, researchers, and strategists who want to help build safer, healthier communities. If you’re based in Denver, we encourage you to apply for the organizing fellow role. The campaign strategy fellow and consumer safety research fellow positions are open to applicants across the U.S.

Fellows will receive a stipend ranging from $6,500 to $9,000.

The FDA has now missed five deadlines to ban formaldehyde in hair-straightening products, with no new deadline in sight. With the recent resignation of Dr. Marty Makary, we are incredibly concerned that a national ban may no longer be on the horizon as promised.
As salon workers and communities continue to be exposed to this known carcinogen, we are calling on the FDA to act now. Join us in this call to action.

Vaginas are self cleaning, but Summer’s Eve uses manipulative marketing to make people believe otherwise. While they profit off of shaming their consumers, they’re exposing them to boric acid, a known reproductive toxicant.

The idea that you need a special product to feel “fresh” is a tired, misogynistic marketing tactic built on racist stereotypes.

We had a wonderful time at the conference in Boulder, Colorado, on May 7! Our Education and Advocacy fellow, Bella Ely, and Operations Manager, Molly Hirshik, were able to connect with new members of our community and share more about our vaginal health, safe salon, and safe cleaning work.

This expo brought together community members, leaders, activists, and philanthropists with Colorado organizations. It also showcased projects, programs, and initiatives that amplify social change to ensure a better world.

This week, as we observe National Women’s Health Week, we continue to uplift our Voices Behind the Crown series. This series was started as a part of our “Beautiful Hair Without the Scare” campaign, which is calling on the FDA to ban formaldehyde in hair straightening products, an issue that disproportionately affects Black women.

Today, we revisit Zari’s story. Zari reflects on her hair journey growing up alongside her twin sister and the challenges they faced when salons were unable or unwilling to properly care for their hair. But Zari never let others write her story for her. Today, she celebrates seeing more hairstyles embraced and hopes for a future where everyone’s hair story is joyful.
