By uniting nearly 400 guests and raising over $110,000 - a record-breaking increase for her chapter - she directly advanced the Alpha Phi Foundation's vital mission supporting women's heart health and research. Through large-scale event ex*****on, vendor coordination, and community-wide academic advocacy, she exemplifies the drive, leadership, and unwavering commitment to sisterly impact that define the heart of Alpha Phi.

We are officially recruiting volunteer Heart to Heart Grant Readers to play a vital role in directing critical funding to groundbreaking clinical research and community care. This year, we are especially excited about the opportunity to expand our grant process and invite more Alpha Phi alumnae to bring their unique professional perspectives to the selection table.

While our team of Clinical Readers work in areas such Clinical Research & Medicine, Cardiovascular Sciences, Healthcare & Allied Health, and Academic Medicine, our Community team is expanding! This year, we are specifically looking to recruit Community Readers with expertise in new target industries, including:

- Public/Community Health
- Social Work
- Patient Outreach
- Nonprofit Leadership

Whether your background is bedside clinical care or community-based advocacy, your experience can help shape the future of women's cardiovascular health.

Happy Founders Day, Alpha Phi! 🌿✨

Today, we proudly celebrate 154 years of sisterhood! On October 10, 1872, our ten visionary Founders came together at Syracuse University with the bold belief that women supporting women could truly change the world.

As we reflect on 154 years of history - and celebrate Alpha Phi Foundation’s own 70th anniversary year - we are reminded that the high ideals set by our Founders remain at the very heart of everything we do today:

In recognition of National Hazing Prevention Week, Alpha Phi Foundation is proud to feature Maya McCosker (Theta-Michigan) as our Scholar of the Week for her commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and empowering chapter environments.

A dedicated student leader at the University of Michigan, Maya serves as Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Theta Chapter of Alpha Phi. This past summer, she gained invaluable public sector experience as an intern with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office within the Division of Law and Public Safety. Collaborating with the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI), she helped plan, execute, and communicate strategic initiatives.

Back on campus, Maya brings that same dedication to public safety and accountability to her role on the chapter’s executive board, where she works to amplify diverse perspectives and advance chapter equity. By combining legal experience with compassionate advocacy, she models the forward-thinking leadership, empowerment, and care that define our sisterhood.

Meet this week's Scholar of the Week: Dalisha Severino from Alpha Phi Hofstra!

A dedicated aspiring physician-scientist at Hofstra University, Dalisha has paired her rigorous scientific pursuits with extraordinary leadership across her campus and sorority. As Chapter President of Theta Mu, she represented her chapter as a delegate at the 75th Biennial Convention—where she celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Alpha Phi Foundation and proudly accepted the 2024–2026 Biennial Award for Excellence in Health, Wellness & Accountability alongside top chapter honors. Her extensive leadership journey also includes attending the Disney Institute Leadership Institute and Leadership Conference, and serving as Panhellenic Delegate and Vice President of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Grounded in empathy, scientific dedication, and a commitment to bold dreams, Dalisha exemplifies the highest values of leadership, sisterhood, and service championed by Alpha Phi.

A high-achieving finance student at Indiana University's Kelley School of Economics, Grace Guglielmetti has demonstrated exceptional academic dedication as a recognized 2025 Founders Scholar. Expanding her global business acumen, she successfully completed the intensive FM250 Finance course during Session 1 at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), studying alongside peers from around the world. Deeply committed to her campus community, Grace proudly serves as Alpha Phi's Representative to the IU Panhellenic Association for both the Safe Sisters and Mental Health Allies programs, actively advocating for women's safety, mental health, and empowerment. Blending academic excellence with compassionate leadership and advocacy, she exemplifies the core values of sisterhood and service championed by Alpha Phi.

♥ Applications are officially OPEN for the 2027 Heart to Heart Grant!

Since 1993, Alpha Phi Foundation has awarded nearly $1.6M in Heart to Heart Grants to pioneering research and life-saving community initiatives focused on women’s heart health. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are proud to offer funding across two grant categories this cycle:

🔬Clinical Grant ($100,000): For bench and clinical research initiatives at hospitals, universities, and research institutions.

🩺Community Grant ($25,000): For community outreach, education, and health programs targeting care for women.
