This Gamma Chi chapter of Delta Delta Delta was founded at the University of Denver in the fall of 2000. Over the past 17 years, our chapter has grown to become one of the most active Tri Delta chapters in the country. We are committed to our philanthropic endeavors for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, our academic development at the University of Denver, and are constantly providing chapter
members with innovative opportunities to become more well-rounded women. In 2001, our fundraising efforts for St. Jude started with one annual philanthropy event – Cancer Strikeout. Today, we host several different philanthropic events per year, including Sincerely Yours and Delta House of Pancakes (DHOP). In the 2016-2017 academic year, we raised close to $60,000 for St. Jude through these events, helping the national organization of Tri Delta reach its goal of raising $15 million in 5 years in only 3.5 years. For our efforts, we were awarded 2013 Chapter of the Year in the Silver category at the national convention held in Memphis, Tennessee. Since being founded in 2000, this chapter of Delta Delta Delta has continued to grow and flourish at the University of Denver. In 2013, this chapter was awarded Chapter of the Year during Greek Week and won the week-long competition amongst other Greek chapters on campus. In 2017, we were awarded an award of Excellence in Philanthropy and Community Service and in Academic Achievement.
