For the first time in U.S. history, the people get to shape a monument on the National Mall before it's designed. And our students are already on it. ✊

The Women's Suffrage National Monument Foundation () is asking everyone to submit an idea for what this monument should be, and the prompts are the kind of thing we sit with at Asian Girls Ignite:
What does women's suffrage history mean to you?
What should future generations feel when they visit?
Who are the women, in your life or in history, who lit the way?
Your idea can be a drawing, a photo, a collage, a sculpture, even a poem. There's no wrong way to dream it up.

Here's how:
1. Get inspired by the movement
2. Make your idea
3. Submit it at https://womensmonument.org/monumental-ideas-submission/
4. Under "Your Affiliated Group," click other and enter Asian Girls Ignite

Submit by July 4th and put your community on the map. We want to see AANHPI youth all over this monument's story. 💜

Last year, we handed the pen to our middle school designers and asked them to design the RepresentAsian Matters Summer Program shirt themselves. This year, they did it again. 🖊️

Swipe to see this year's middle school designers in the thick of it — sketching, scrapping, starting over, debating over color choices, landing on something that feels like them.
Then keep going, because that messy magic? Here's what it becomes. 👀 That's last year's finished shirt, the one that started exactly like the doodles you just scrolled past.

Jane, AGI’s marketing designer, takes what the students dream up and brings it to life, honoring every choice they made instead of polishing it into something generic. 👚

We set out to raise $15,000 this AANHPI Heritage Month. Together, we exceeded it—$24,230 raised. 🥹

Every dollar came back to the students—the ones who spoke up for the first time, who found out they weren't the only one, who walked in and realized a seat had been saved for them all along.

Emmy (she/her) and Katie (she/her), two of our Youth Leadership Collective members, wanted to say thank you. Give it a watch! And know that when you gave, you pulled up another chair at our table for the next student.

Thank you, from all of us at AGI. 💜

Life is better with them. 🌟🪩

This video is the "why" behind everything we do! It’s the sound of feet hitting the floor, the clink of drinks shared between friends, and the laughter that fills every corner of Asian Girls Ignite.

This is what belonging looks like in real-time.

For the last 30 days, we’ve been celebrating these moments. Now, we have just ❣️48 hours to reach our $15,000 goal❣️ to ensure these spaces stay accessible for every student.

We are so close to the finish line, and every gift—no matter the size—directly fuels the leadership, confidence, and connection you see in this video.

Let’s bring this home! Help us reach our goal before the campaign ends tomorrow night! Hit this link to give💜: https://www.asiangirlsignite.org/this-is-belonging?utm_source=igfb&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=may26

No leftovers were left behind at our annual AANHPI Heritage Month CelebrAsian, and our hearts left just as full as our stomachs. 🥟 🍙 🧋

We set our own table to turn food into a bridge for culture, connection, and heritage—sharing the space we wish we all had growing up.

Our students split into small groups for two hours of hands-on workshops, learning the art of the fold, wrap, and shake from local caterers:
🥟 Nepalese Momos with Rabee Sharma (she/her) of
🍙 Japanese Onigiri with Maddie Dunhoff (she/her) of
🧋 Taiwanese Boba with Victoria Lam (she/her) of

Together, they mastered traditional recipes while sharing the real, unpolished stories of how food intersects with who we are.

Our community is made up of so many different stories and cultures, and every single one of them had a place at the table. That magic carried right into our closing circle. When we asked our students what belonging felt like, they spoke directly from the heart:
💜 "I felt like I belonged after hearing about people that don’t always ‘feel Asian enough’.”
💜 "I really loved the solidarity of making the hands-on foods with everyone. It made me feel really involved and happy!!"
💜 "I felt a sense of belonging when I made new friends, while connecting over food (the best thing ever)."
💜 "One time I felt a sense of belonging today was when my group made onigiri because ‘we are all the same in different font.’"

Shared culture and lived experiences create a connection unlike any other—it really does feel like someone saving you the last handmade momo.

✨ A massive shoutout to our friends at I Matter () whose generous $1,000 sponsorship made this intentional, identity-affirming space possible and Social Fabric Hub () for hosting us in your beautiful space!

To every student who walked through the door, took their shoes off, and pulled up a chair: You belong here, exactly as you are, including the food you grew up with. 💜🥡

Moving to a new city—let alone a new state—is a big transition. ✈️ When Reina (she/her) and her family moved to Denver, they arrived looking for the same vibrant AANHPI community they had cherished in California.

At Reina’s first Asian Girls Ignite community event, she found exactly what she was looking for. Seeing a room full of peers and families who shared her identity brought an immediate sense of belonging in Denver! 🌟

This is the pulse of our This Is Belonging campaign. We create the spaces where every AANHPI girl and gender-expansive youth feels seen and welcome, no matter what.

Your investment fuels these "big moments" of discovery and the leadership that follows. In fact, Reina is now serving as a camp guide during our summer program! ☀️🌻

We’re in the final days of our campaign! Every gift brings us closer to our $15,000 goal, ensuring AGI can always be the "welcome home" 🏠 for students like Reina.

Fuel the power of belonging by supporting today 💜: https://www.asiangirlsignite.org/this-is-belonging?utm_source=igfb&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=may26

On May 19th, was buzzing! 🥟💫 The space was full of laughter, flavor, and the exact kind of energy we built our This Is Belonging campaign to celebrate. Thank you to everyone who came out for Bites & Belonging — it truly felt like one big family gathering, with new friendships forming, old friends reconnecting, kids running around, laughter across tables, and endless food and drinks.

Thanks to everyone's collective effort, we raised $8,400 from the dinner! 🎉

A heartfelt thank you to our Gold Sponsor, Francis Cheung 💝 Thank you for helping power this night of community and connection, and for supporting a space where AGI students feel like they belong.

A huge thank you to our board hosts, UnSuk Zucker () and Miguel In Suk Lovato (), for opening up the table and making space for such a vibrant gathering. And to — a proudly Pro-MSG restaurant that uses the savory magic of umami to challenge outdated stereotypes — thank you for letting us savor your culture, loud and unapologetic. It was the perfect home for a night about being seen exactly as you are!

We're also so grateful to the local AANHPI-owned businesses who made the night even more special with their generous raffle giveaways: , , , , , , and . 💜 Please show them some love!

From the first bite to the last toast, you helped us prove what this campaign is all about: belonging isn't something we're building someday. It's already here. ✨
