We do not play about feeding our students. 🍱

Every meal at RepresentAsian Matters: Rooted in Joy came from local and AANHPI-owned businesses across Denver, so our students ate well and our community's businesses stayed busy!

Fair warning: we didn't capture every dish. We were too busy eating. 😬

The full lineup:
🍙 Mon: onigiri + sandos from , Filipino BBQ from , boba from
🥐 Tue: pastries from , Nepalese momos from
🥣 Wed: smoothie bowls from .society_, Filipino vegan lunch from
🍞 Thu: pandesal from , Hawaiian BBQ from , mochi + choux from
🌶️ Fri: build-your-own kimchi nacho + fry bar from (and popsicles!)

If any of this made you hungry: go. Tell them we sent you. 😉

It’s soooo hard to not get caught by the camera on YLC content creation days 😉📸

Here's what the day looks like: our YLC crew comes in and we make things together, start to finish!
Photos, filming, going back and forth on ideas, and obviously, plenty of laughing in between.
Showing up is always optional! But it’s an opportunity for students to tell their own stories in their own voices. That's the whole reason this page feels the way it does!

Want in? YLC apps are open till July 31: https://asiangirlsignite.org/youth-leadership-collective 💜

A lot of our Lotus Collective members say the same thing when they join: 💬 "I wish I'd had this growing up."

You don't have to keep wishing. The community you needed back then is one you can walk into now, and help build for the ones coming up.

Sometimes that's mentoring. Mostly it's just showing up. An hour here and there, volunteering, while you're still sorting out your own life too.

The Lotus Collective is Asian Girls Ignite's community of AANHPI women and gender-expansive adults, 21+, here in Colorado. If that's you, there's a seat: https://www.asiangirlsignite.org/lotus-collective 💜

"Leadership" makes a lot of youth picture the loudest person in the room. That's not what it looks like at AGI YLC.

It takes a village to finish this many shrimp chips. 🦐 Our Youth Leadership Collective at Hmart, doing important research. Tag the friend you'd split a cart with!

Day 1 of RepresentAsian Matters: Rooted in Joy is in the books, and we’re still buzzing 🤩
Our students showed up, took their seats, and filled the room with so much laughter the day flew by. And we ate WELL, like we always do 😋
Breakfast from Onto Coffee, lunch from Paborito, and dessert from Die Die Must Try(not pictured, because they disappeared too fast 👀).
We’re writing an event diary of the week — full recap dropping on the blog after we wrap!
