History was made in more ways than one on this day, as millions of people across the United States and beyond gathered for the No Kings Rally.

The President of the Dayton Branch NAACP was honored to be one of the speakers at this pivotal event. Dr. Foward delivered a powerful speech, urging the crowd to take action, emphasizing the importance of voter registration and the need to use our collective voting power to bring about the necessary changes that will address the negative impacts of the current administration. DAYTON, this is our moment! This is our time! This is our season to stand up and protect our democracy.

Other speakers included Frieda Patrick, a WWII-era refugee who spoke to the similarities between the current administration and Nazi-Germany tactics and the desperate need for action; Executive President, Dayton United for Human Rights and Chair, US Human Rights City Alliance Tara Campbell who invigorated the crowd with a message of resilience; and former Dayton Mayor and current President of Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio Nan Whaley who emphasized Dayton's record of making progressive changes, among many others.

A message from our Chairman Terrence Williams of the Armed Services and Veteran Affairs Committee:

April 4th will be DAV Community Impact Day, where Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is looking for volunteers and donors to contribute to making a local impact.

Sinclair Broadcasting Group has partnered with DAV to make the day possible, pledging an initial $25,000 and using its local broadcast stations to solicit additional donations through its Sinclair Cares charity initiative. All donations up until April 4th will go toward supporting the DAV mission.

The Dayton DAV chapter ( #9) works to provide support for local disabled veterans. Funds raised will also go toward their scholarship fund. For more information, click the following link:
