Artist Michael Shemchuk is leading a 2-day workshop at the Pence in November! This mixed media workshop tackles creating dynamic, textured surfaces as a first step in the Abstraction by Design process. Under the guidance of artist Michael Shemchuk, participants will apply layers of paper and paint and produce surfaces that enable them to sand, scrape, peel, paint, collage and repeat multiple times. During this workshop, students will complete a series of layered surfaces, which are ideal for furthering paint & collage projects.

We are thrilled to announce Felicia Miller as the Pence Gallery's Yolo Philanthropy Award Honoree for 2026. Felicia has worked tirelessly as a volunteer to welcome people to the Pence Gallery since joining the Pence Board in January 2020. She served as Board Treasurer for four years, where her attention to detail served to streamline reports and clarify financial statements.

She is currently the head of the Ambassadors, a volunteer group dedicated to promoting the Pence and to growing our membership through outreach efforts and events. She is organized and creative in trying new ways of engaging our visitors and members, and spends countless hours reaching out to Pence members with her group.

During our receptions, Felicia can often be found conversing with people about opportunities at the Pence, or helping run the scavenger hunt. For three years, she has also coordinated a delicious home-made lunch to thank Pence volunteers, members, and donors during the Big Day of Giving. Everyone who attends loves this lunch in our courtyard, as it gives us a chance to thank the people who make such a difference at the Pence. We appreciate the big difference that Felicia Miller has made during her time volunteering at the Pence!

Felicia wished to not be pictured due to privacy reasons, so we are featuring a photo of the Pence and greatly appreciate her dedication to our non-profit organization!
