MUSIC FOR NATALIE -
The Odd Fellows and our Natalie Corona Scholarship Committee invite you to attend the 8th Annual Music for Natalie next Sunday May 31st at G Street Plaza between 12 noon and 5pm.
Music for Natalie is an annual Odd Fellow event celebrating the life and ideals of fallen Davis Police Officer Natalie Corona. It is a free public event featuring three bands: Misner & Smith, Julie and the Jukes, and the Natalie Cortez Band. This year, we have rented the G Street Plaza for the event. There will be a beer garden hosted by Three Mile Brewing and Woodstock's Pizza will have a stand on the street.
The Natalie Corona Scholarship Committee was formed in early 2019 following the tragic shooting of Davis Police Officer Natalie Corona. The committee was formed to set up a scholarship program for high school seniors to assist them in pursuing careers in law enforcement, criminal justice, or as a first responder. It is called the Officer Natalie Corona Odd Fellows Memorial Scholarship. In 2025, we awarded five $2,000 scholarships to students from Davis and Arbuckle (Officer Corona's hometown).
We have held seven annual events called Music for Natalie and have raised over $100,000. We maintain an endowment fund for the scholarship program. Our goal is to make the program self-sustaining. As our endowment fund has grown, the scholarship size has increased.
If you want to do more, here are some options.
1. Tell Your Friends and Family to Attend. This is a free community event to remember, honor, and celebrate Officer Natalie Corona's ideals of excellence and service. There will be good vibes, good music, and food and drinks available.
2. Help with the Event. Set Up. We will be moving equipment from the lodge to G Street Plaza at 9am. A few extra hands loading and unloading would be great. Clean Up. We will need a few helpers to tear down and return equipment to the lodge at 5pm.
3. Be a Sponsor. Be a sponsor for Music for Natalie 2026. Donations can be made to Davis Odd Fellows Helping Hands, Inc., our 501(c)(3) corporation. Also, donations can be made through the Davis Odd Fellows lodge website at www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=WHZPA2DEC5RFU. Donations help our endowment fund grow and enable us to increase scholarships and grants.
