Behind every award is a community. Today, that community was beautifully represented. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฉท

Thriving Pink received the inaugural Community Health Partnership Impact Award from Dignity Health, a member of CommonSpirit, at last Friday morning's 2026 Community Health Improvement Grants Celebration. This award is in recognition of our partnership to build healthier, more equitable communities in the Greater Sacramento Region. Executive Director Leslie Hunter, Board of Directors Michelle Silva, Board of Directors Gena Bravo (also President, Dignity Health Woodland), and Maria, who worked with Thriving Pink on the implementation of the grant work with Yolo County's Latina population, accepted the award together in Rancho Cordova.

Thriving Pink's ProspeROSA program was at the heart of this recognition, developed to provide awareness and support to the Spanish-speaking community in our region.

๐ŸฉทJoin us for our next Pink Speaker Series!

Monday, May 11, 2026 | 7โ€“8 PM on Zoom

This month, we're talking about pathology โ€” and what it actually means for you as a breast cancer patient. Our presenter, Alexander "Sandy" D. Borowsky, MD, will help you make sense of the terminology, understand how pathology shapes your diagnosis and treatment, and learn about some of the latest advances in diagnostics.

You'll leave with a clearer picture of what's happening behind the scenes in your care โ€” and the language to talk about it.

About the Speaker:
Alexander "Sandy" D. Borowsky, MD, has served as Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Davis, contributing to both the Center for Comparative Medicine and the Comprehensive Cancer Center. He trained in diagnostic breast pathology at Vanderbilt during a pivotal era of innovation in breast-conserving therapy and further specialized in molecular oncology at Brigham/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Borowsky is widely recognized for his expertise in experimental models of DCIS and breast cancer, as well as his work advancing evidence-based diagnostic technologies.

We hope you'll join us. This event is free, virtual + open to all!

Yolo County showed up โ€” and we are overwhelmed with gratitude. ๐Ÿ’—

To everyone who donated, shared, commented, and cheered us on during Big Day of Giving: thank you. You are the reason no one in Yolo County has to face breast cancer alone.

Thriving Pink is one of many nonprofits proud to call Yolo County home โ€” and times like this remind us how much is possible when our community comes together around the causes it believes in. We are so proud to be part of a group of nonprofits that gives so generously.

This is what community looks like. Neighbors supporting neighbors. Strangers becoming allies. One gift at a time.

If you didn't get a chance to give during Big Day of Giving, we welcome your generous donation through our website. Every dollar still makes a difference.

Thank you, Yolo County. From the bottom of our hearts. ๐ŸŒธ
