Illowa Council's Kittan District is excited to welcome two new Eagle Scouts!
Ethan C. and Aiden R. both passed their Board of Review on June 18th, 2026.

Ethan C. is a member of Troop 89 in Bettendorf, Iowa. His project benefitted the city of LeClaire, Iowa, with a painting project at the Riverfront Pavilion for a total of 173.10 hours. Over the past eight years, Ethan has grown from a Cub Scout learning his way around summer camp into a leader who now helps guide and mentor younger Scouts. Through roles including Den Chief, Patrol Leader, and Instructor, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership, service, and personal growth. An honor-roll student with a passion for aviation and engineering, Ethan plans to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering and hopes to one day work for NASA or SpaceX. He credits Scouting with helping him develop the leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills that will help him achieve those goals. Whether serving his troop, church, or community, Ethan embodies the values of Scouting and has a bright future ahead.

Aiden R. is a member of Bettendorf, Iowa's Troop 24. His project included building benches for the Riverdale Heights Elementary School for PVCSD with a total of 70 service hours. One of Aiden’s most memorable Scouting experiences was his trek to Philmont Scout Ranch, where he learned adaptability, self-reliance, and the importance of always being prepared. Those lessons helped him lead his Eagle Scout service project and continue growing as a leader. As he enters his senior year of high school, Aiden is staying active in marching band, weightlifting, and challenging academic courses while exploring plans for college. He hopes to pursue a career in sports broadcasting, combining his strong work ethic and passion for sports. Aiden also has some ambitious goals beyond the classroom—to visit all 50 states, every MLB stadium, and at least 20 countries! With the skills and values he has gained through Scouting, there is no doubt he is well prepared for the journey ahead.
Please join us in congratulating these new Eagle Scouts!

Happy Father’s Day to Our Scouting Dads!

Today we celebrate all the incredible dads who give their time, heart, and leadership to Scouting — as Den Leaders, Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Committee members and volunteers. You’re the ones who show up early, stay late, lead campouts, cheer at Pinewood Derbies, and make every Scout feel like they belong. You do so much more than lead — you inspire, you mentor, and you shape young lives in ways that last forever.

Behind every badge earned and every memory made is a dad who gave up his weekend, stood in the rain at a campsite, or stayed up late planning the next meeting. Thank you for leading with love, for showing up with purpose, and for helping raise the next generation of leaders. Your presence is the greatest gift of all.

Happy Father’s Day from your Illowa Council Scouting Family!

It's Camping Season!

Much of Scouting occurs in the out of doors where we are the visitors and the animals, insects, and other creatures are at home.

Be Aware. Know what risks are possible. Mosquitos, ticks, mammals, and other creatures can spread disease to people.
Know the area you will be visiting. Is it wooded? Near a swamp?

Be Prepared. Bring repellents and netting, and set good policy around checking for ticks and bites. Make sure repellents are used and reapplied.

Avoid places where rodents have been living. If cleaning an area or enclosure (cabin, hut, etc.), be prepared by making sure qualified personnel and proper personal protective equipment are used.
