Celebrating 106 Years of Job’s Daughters International!

On October 20, 1920, Job’s Daughters International was founded in Omaha, Nebraska, by Ethel T. Wead Mick, a native of Atlantic, Iowa!

Inspired by the biblical story of Job, she established this Masonic youth organization to help young women develop leadership skills, confidence, friendships, and strong moral values.

106 years later, Job’s Daughters is still active today, with members around the world continuing its tradition of leadership, community service, and fellowship.

A wonderful piece of Masonic history with roots right here in Iowa!

💜 International Day of the Girl | October 11 💜

Every girl deserves the chance to find her voice, discover her strengths, build confidence, and see herself as a leader.

That’s what we love about Job’s Daughters! At Bethel No. 5 in Davenport, we’re creating a space where girls can try new things, make friends, serve their community, and learn that their ideas matter. Whether they’re naturally outgoing or take a little time to come out of their shell, there’s a place for them here. 💜

We believe girls don’t have to wait until they’re older to lead. They can start right now, with the support of friends and adults who believe in them.

Today, we celebrate girls everywhere and the amazing things they can do when they’re given the opportunity to grow.

Bloom • Lead • Grow 🌸🦋

Happy International Day of the Girl from Bethel No. 5, Job’s Daughters International!

💜 We had a great meeting at Bethel No. 5!

We were excited to officially welcome Char during her Welcome Ceremony! We’re so happy to have her joining our Bethel family. 💜

We also wrapped up our teacher appreciation basket project! The girls put their time and effort into creating something special to show appreciation for the teachers who make a difference in their lives. 🍎🎁

We love seeing our girls build friendships, learn new things, and find ways to give back to our community. We can’t wait to see what’s next!

🌱 4. Don’t wait until high school.

Don’t wait until high school to start building confidence and leadership. 🌱

At 10, 11, or 12, she’s already discovering who she is.

Job’s Daughters gives her a place to make friends, try new things, serve, lead, and grow—at her own pace. 💜

Give her somewhere to Bloom • Lead • Grow. 🦋

College and scholarship interviews don't just want to know what she joined.

They want to know what she learned, how she grew, and what she accomplished. 🎓

Job's Daughters gives girls real experiences in leadership, service, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving—the kind of experiences that become stories worth telling. 💜

💜 A Special Evening for Job’s Daughters of Iowa 💜

It was an honor for Job’s Daughters of Iowa to be recognized and included at the annual meeting the other evening. We are especially proud that the Honored Queen of Bethel No. 5 was invited to speak on behalf of Job’s Daughters across our state.

Opportunities like this are a wonderful reflection of the growing relationship between Job’s Daughters and the Masonic community in Iowa. We are grateful for the support, encouragement, and genuine interest shown to our girls throughout this year.

Giving our young women a voice, welcoming them into these gatherings, and creating opportunities for them to be seen and heard makes a lasting impact.

We are thankful for the continued partnership and proud of the relationship we are building together. 💜🌸

Job’s Daughters of Iowa is grateful to be part of the Iowa Masonic family!

🦋 Maybe she doesn't need another activity.
Maybe she just hasn't found her people yet. 💜

Shy, outgoing, creative, athletic, or still finding her voice—there's a place for her here. 🦋
