About the Iowa Cadet Corps

The Iowa Cadet Corps is a nonprofit, cadet-run program dedicated to providing young people with education and hands-on experiences focused on Leadership Education and Moral Development.

This is a cadet program, not a military recruitment program. We are looking for motivated young people ages 12–21 who want to develop leadership skills, discipline, confidence, teamwork, and personal responsibility.

We are also seeking senior members who are active-duty military personnel, veterans, or parents who would like to volunteer their time and experience to support our cadets.

What Cadets Learn

Through participation in the Iowa Cadet Corps, cadets have opportunities to develop skills in:

Teamwork and Leadership
Discipline and Self-Confidence
Military Rank Structure
Military Bearing
Drill, Customs & Courtesies
Uniform Wear and Appearance
Land Navigation Skills
Search and Rescue
First Aid
Weapon Safety
Marksmanship

The goal is to give cadets the knowledge, confidence, and character they need to become responsible, capable leaders and productive members of their communities.

Attention all
Untill further notice uniforms will not be worn to normal drill functions. This is in accordance with Secretary of War Hon. Hegseth ordering personell not to wear uniforms off base. We will still have drill but as our drills are not on an installation we will be in appropriate civilian attire untill otherwise stated. Thank you for your cooperation. LTC Jessen.

We at the IACC send our respects and condolences to the family of firefighter Ali Jasim and also to his station house with the Blackhawk Fire District. Please remember we can truly never know the fight within that anyone is fighting. Please reach out to your battle buddy. There is never a time to inconvenient or late to make the call.
