It was a fantabulous morning for Richard Woodard AMBUCS Challenger Baseball! 8 teams. 16 coaches. 80 players. Lots of buddies. We had volunteers to serve snacks, announce the game, s**g the balls. We had drinks and snacks and sunshine! We even had the opportunity to present an Amtryke to one of our players. We will play again next Saturday, June 13th at Winter Park. First pitch 9AM. Come out and enjoy the FUN!

Richard Woodard AMBUCS Challenger Baseball starts tomorrow June 6 at Winter Park west of AMBUCS Playground for Everyone. First pitch 9AM. If you didn't get your uniform picked up we will have it at the sign in table. Come on out and enjoy a morning of baseball.

The first Ambucs Friday Night Concert in 2026 was a huge success. The band, Crozier and Co. was fabulous! We played some games and the Smack the Duck was the favorite!! Come check us out on June 20th for our next concert!

Tonya Hill, the recipient of the Danville Illinois Ambucs 1st Citizen Award was honored at a banquet held at Turtle Run Golf Club on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
We heard many beautiful stories about her and it was a lovely evening. We all thank you Tonya, for your huge volunteer heart and compassion for others!

To celebrate Tonya's achievements in our community, a dinner in her honor will be held at Turtle Run Banquet Center on Saturday, May 30th, starting at 6:00pm. Tickets are $35. Mrs. Hill currently serves as the Executive Director of the Danville Area Community College Foundation, where she leads fundraising, grant development, and community engagement efforts to support educational opportunities. Through her visionary leadership, she has made enormous strides in providing low/no cost educational opportunities to thousands of students seeking a higher education.

Not only does Tonya excel in her professional capacity, but also tirelessly serves our community as a dedicated volunteer. She is the former board President of the Danville Library Foundation, The Boys and Girls Club of Danville, and the Danville Rotary Club as well as the former Treasurer of Vermilion Advantage. She is currently the President of the Board at Worksource Enterprises, a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, as well as an advocate for the "Do Something!" initiative, advancing pay-it-forward efforts in Vermilion County.

While Tonya's accolade list is long, it is her generosity, candor, and optimism that have truly defined the spirit of her service within our community. Danville is lucky to have a bridge-builder, a tireless advocate, and an indefatigable warrior represent our community in such a noble and honorable way. The Danville Chapter of AMBUCS is incredibly proud to recognize this amazing woman as this year's First Citizen.
