🎉 Another Fantastic Rotary Mahjong Social! 🎉

San Ramon Valley Rotary Club hosted another wonderful mahjong social, welcoming 40 players from the community. Guests enjoyed perfect weather while playing on the patio and in the private event room Fat Maddie’s Blackhawk, creating an afternoon filled with fun, friendship, and great mahjong.

One of our beginner groups stayed after the social to enjoy dinner together and continue building their camaraderie. That is what our mahjong socials are all about: building community through a traditional game and having fun!

📅 Next Mahjong Social: Sunday, October 4, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

To help us plan accordingly, please RSVP so Linda Chin, Club Executive Secretary, can anticipate attendance and ensure we have enough mahjong sets and supplies for everyone. She does have the RSVPs from the previous post.

🀄 ALL SKILLS LEVELS ARE WELCOMED!

To support newer players, we will be offering TWO beginner sessions:

• FIRST TIME Player Group Lesson: 3:15 PM – 4:00 PM
Learn the basics of mahjong, including tile identification, game setup, and gameplay fundamentals.

• 2ND-3RD Time Player Group Review Session: 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM (NEWLY ADDED)
Perfect for players who have recently learned the game and would like to learn more about strategy and scoring concepts.

RSVP today and bring a friend! We look forward to seeing you on October 4th! 🀄😊

🌎❤️ Rotary in Action: Making a Difference Locally and Around the World! ❤️🌎

What a wonderful meeting at the San Ramon Valley Rotary Club!

SRVRC members, Dan Geraldi and Erica D’Sousa shared their inspiring experiences with Wheelchair Foundation in Costa Rica, reminding us how Rotary changes lives around the world. Their stories reminded us that the impact of providing a wheelchair goes far beyond the recipient. It brings greater independence, hope, and opportunities not only to the individual but also to their family and the entire community. ❤️

🎉 We were also excited to welcome a new member, Nidhi Jain, to our Rotary family! We look forward to sharing many memorable experiences, leadership and service together.

🇮🇳 We had the pleasure of welcoming a visiting Rotarian from India and exchanging our club flags—a wonderful reminder that Rotary connects people across the globe! 🌍

From welcoming new members to sharing international service experiences, our club lives by the Rotary motto: Service Above Self.

❤️ **Service Above Self: Making a Difference, One Meal at a Time!** ❤️

Our San Ramon Valley Rotary Club volunteered at Kids Against Hunger Bay Area for a meaningful morning of helping package more than 20,000 meals!

Through this hands-on service project, we were reminded that even small acts of kindness can make a BIG difference. Every meal packaged represents hope, compassion, and a step toward fighting hunger in our communities and beyond.

We were proud to partner with Ramon Valley Community Interact Club and the Danville San Ramon Rotary. Bringing together Rotarians and young community leaders demonstrates the power of collaboration and the impact we can make when we work together.

This is what Rotary is all about - Service Above Self 🤝

🀄Rotarians Who Play Together, Stay Together! 🀄

This Summer, members of the San Ramon Valley Rotary Club have been gathering at Fat Maddie’s Blackhawk for mahjong socials filled with laughter and a little friendly competition.

Led by the club’s Executive Secretary, Linda Chin, family and friends have been learning Hong Kong style mahjong, developing new skills, and celebrating each other's successes along the way.

These gatherings are about much more than the game itself. They provide an opportunity to strengthen friendships, build community, and enjoy Rotary fellowship in a fun and welcoming environment.
Interested in learning mahjong or giving it a try?

Join us for our next Mahjong Social on Sunday, August 30, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, all are welcome!

Lessons and social play are completely free. We simply ask guests to support our generous host, Fat Maddie's Blackhawk, by ordering an entrée from their All Day Happy Hour Menu or regular menu.

Fat Maddie's has graciously provided us with a private room that is spacious, bright, and comfortable for learning and play. Weather permitting, we'll also have the option to enjoy mahjong on the patio in their beautiful outdoor setting.

Come for the mahjong, stay for the fellowship.
