Testimony Tuesday // More than An Infertility Community
When I first started this journey, I never imagined that some of my greatest support would come through a ministry outside of my church. My first group was small, but I kept showing up for group anyway. Through my leader and my first conference, I met women who would become dear friends. Though we live in different parts of the country, the distance doesn't matter. Their friendships leave me in awe. God created a sisterhood rooted in faith.
At the following conference, I met more women who would become important parts of my journey. One encouraged me to consider leadership, while others quickly became trusted friends. A year ago, I signed up for prayer partners and was matched with another woman who would become a dear friend. During our prayer partner season, the Lord made a way for us to meet in person before the conference when she came to the West Coast for work. What started through prayer became genuine sisterhood.
Their encouragement gave me the courage to continue plugging into group and eventually step into leadership. Through conferences, retreats, and ministry events, God continued weaving together more friendships.
Today, so many women are now contacts in my phone, and I love knowing that if I cannot reach one person, there is always another friend willing to answer my call or text, and vice versa.
Before I ever joined group, I remember seeing a leader profile and thinking, “Wow, there’s another woman who looks like me. She’s also Latina.” When we finally met in person at leaders retreat, I shared that seeing her representation encouraged me to sign up in the first place. That moment reminded me how powerful representation and visibility can be.
Had I never stepped out of my comfort zone, I would have missed out on healing, encouragement, accountability, and lifelong friendships.
Sometimes, one leap of faith can change your life through the power of community. What once felt like a lonely journey has now changed into a powerful sisterhood rooted in faith and fellowship.
Thank you, , for sharing your testimony.
