Texas Women's Foundation strengthens communities throughout the state by increasing the investment in women and girls and empowering women's philanthropy.

Texas Women’s Foundation was founded on the belief that when you invest in a woman, there is a ripple effect that benefits her family, her community and her world. We’ve researched, funded and demonstrated the ripple effect for 28 years in North Texas, granting more than $24 million to help create opportunities and solve issues for women and girls. We operate like a community foundation, conducting our work and making grants with funds we raise from a broad base of individual donors and from donor advised funds held by the Foundation. Together with our donors and partners, we are the key that unlocks the ripple effect of investment in women and girls. Today, the ripple effect of investing in women is widely acknowledged in global and domestic economic policy and social change movements as one of the surest and most effective ways to create lasting change in communities and countries. We are unwavering in our commitment to unlock resources for women and girls in our region, our state and around the world. We are dedicated to increasing investment in the ripple effect, to improve education and quality of life, give voice to issues impacting women and girls, and cultivate women leaders for the future.

Our impact is making headlines! Thank you to the Plano Star Courier for highlighting Texas Women’s Foundation’s 2026 Community Grant Cycle and our continued commitment to advancing economic security for women and families across North Texas.

This year, we awarded $900,000 to 25 nonprofit organizations working to remove barriers and create pathways to economic security, stability and success.

The article also highlights two special investments of $40,000 each, made possible by our Board Alumnae in support of Shared Housing Center and The Nineteen in support of The Family Place.

These investments represent more than funding. They reflect the power of collective philanthropy and our shared commitment to building a Texas where women and families can thrive.

: Investing in women. Strengthening families. Building a stronger North Texas.

Thank you to Advocate Magazine for highlighting Texas Women’s Foundation’s recent investment of $900,000 in 25 nonprofit organizations working to advance economic security, stability and opportunity for women and families across North Texas.

From health care and child care to education, housing and workforce development, these organizations are addressing critical needs and creating pathways to lasting change in our communities.

We are especially proud to recognize two additional investments made possible through the generosity of our TXWF community:

• Our Board Alumnae awarded $40,000 to Shared Housing Center through the Virginia B. Whitehill Endowed Fund.
• The Nineteen Network awarded $40,000 to The Family Place in support of its Children’s Educational Services program.

Since 1985, Texas Women’s Foundation has invested more than $115 million in Texas women, their families and their futures. Together with our nonprofit partners, donors and supporters, we continue turning collective giving into meaningful community impact.

: Empowering Women, Supporting Families, Strengthening Communities!

This , we are reflecting on an evening of powerful storytelling, meaningful dialogue and a shared commitment to creating a stronger Texas for women and families.

On October 14, Texas Women’s Foundation’s Executive Leadership Council brought our community together for a special screening of No Country for Mothers, a thought provoking documentary highlighting the challenges families face with childcare, paid leave and workplace policies.

Following the screening, an engaging panel discussion brought together leaders and experts in childcare, policy and business to explore solutions that support working families, advance women's economic security and strengthen our communities.

👏 A special thank you to ChildCareGroup, Tori Mannes and Melanie Rubin for being part of this important conversation and helping elevate the dialogue around the policies, resources and systemic changes needed to support women and families.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Executive Leadership Council, our panel participants and everyone who attended, engaged in the discussion and demonstrated their commitment to advancing meaningful change.

Because supporting working mothers is not just a women's issue. It is an economic issue, a workforce issue and a community issue.

When we invest in women and families, we invest in the future of Texas.
