💕 Your Family’s Health Story Matters.

Do you know your family’s history of breast or ovarian cancer? Certain patterns of cancer among close relatives can increase your risk—and knowing that history can help you and your healthcare provider make more informed decisions about your breast health.

This week, start the conversation:
đź’• Ask your family about their health history.
📝 Write it down—including both your mother’s and father’s sides.
🩺 Share it with your doctor so you can better understand your personal risk and the screening plan that’s right for you.
Knowledge gives us the opportunity to take action.

Talk about it. Write it down. Share it. 🎀

🎀 Did You Know? Screening Starts at 40.
For women at average risk, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends getting a mammogram every two years from ages 40–74.

A mammogram can find breast cancer before you notice symptoms, when treatment may be more effective. If you have a family history or other risk factors, talk with your healthcare provider about the screening schedule that’s right for you.

đź’• Know your risk. Talk to your doctor.

Make your screening plan.
Your health matters. Don’t put it off.

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
This month, Gateway of Grace is encouraging women in our community to make their health a priority. Knowledge matters—and knowing your risk, recognizing changes in your body, and following recommended screening guidelines can make a difference.
Throughout October, we’ll be sharing important facts and practical information to help women take an active role in their breast health. 💕 Share these posts with the women in your life—you never know who may need the reminder.

Know your risk. Know your body. Get screened. 🎀

Because healthy women build stronger families and stronger communities.

But why does the celebration begin in the middle of September? September 15 marks the anniversary of independence for several Latin American countries, with additional independence celebrations following throughout the month. 🎉

Rana’s story is a beautiful reminder that learning English is about so much more than words. It’s about building confidence, creating opportunities, connecting with others, and finding your way in a new community.
