Nominations for five seats on the Associate Members Section Managing Committee close tomorrow, Friday, October 9.

Committee service gives Associate Members a more direct voice in how they engage with SGA and its gas company members. You can bring forward what you are seeing across the industry, contribute your expertise and help strengthen connections across the membership.

Innovation has always been one of the defining strengths of the natural gas industry. As energy demand grows and expectations continue to evolve, innovation is helping our industry operate safer, smarter, and more efficiently than ever before.

From predictive analytics and advanced leak detection technologies to digital tools, emissions reduction initiatives, and modernized infrastructure, progress happens when professionals come together to share ideas and challenge one another to think differently. Routine blanket certificate work may soon follow a different set of rules. FERC’s proposed rulemaking for midstream and LNG projects is one of several shifts environmental permitting teams are tracking heading into 2027.

The SGA Emerging Technology Taskforce brings members together to explore AI and other emerging technologies through ongoing discussions, conference sessions, and knowledge sharing. The taskforce provides a forum for members to exchange real-world experiences, identify practical applications, and discuss how technology can improve efficiency, enhance decision-making, and drive innovation across the industry.

The taskforce is currently leading the development of an industry AI survey designed to better understand how member organizations are utilizing artificial intelligence, where opportunities for adoption exist, and what challenges companies are encountering as they integrate these technologies into their operations. By gathering insights and sharing collective knowledge, the taskforce is helping establish a stronger foundation for informed decision-making and future innovation throughout the industry.
