Deliver Truth...Where Written Words Can't Go
www.spoken.org We deliver Truth...where written words can’t go.

Because 2/3 of the world’s population are oral learners – most of whom are unreached by the gospel – our approach to ministry is uniquely different. Oral learners do not read as their primary means of sharing and learning; therefore, we deliver Truth the way they understand best – through spoken rather than written words. And while our work focuses on individual lives being transformed, the impact made is far greater, as entire communities are moved to walk in Truth.

All Glory to God for His Faithfulness! 🙌🙏

For the Inthar people of Myanmar, hearing God's Word in their heart language once seemed impossible.

Yet today — after 5 years of faithful work — it's a reality. Praise God the Oral New Testament is now available and accessible for the Inthar people!

Pray for every heart that hears Scripture for the first time. 🙏

Oral discipleship has officially launched alongside our Phinisi Oral Bible Translation language project in Indonesia! 🙌🧡

Praise God for opening the door for the Lowe, Konjo, and Dentong communities to receive His Word in their heart language. And now, through the Spoken Oral Discipleship team, local leaders are being equipped to use translated Scripture to reach oral learners who have yet to hear God’s Word, and to disciple others who will disciple still more.

During the training, Mrs. Marta was given the story of Joseph to learn. Using her artistic gifts, she began by drawing the story. Then she turned it into a song. By the snack break, she and a guitarist were performing it for the entire group.

By the end of the day, the whole room was singing Scripture and dancing together.

By the final oral discipleship training session, seven original songs had been created—each one carrying a Bible story, and each one ready to travel into the community.

🎧️ For oral learners, this is deeply natural. Across oral cultures, songs are woven into everyday life. They carry history, preserve tradition, teach truth, and help communities remember what matters most. So when Scripture is shared through song, story, movement, and memory, God’s Word is not just heard, it is received, remembered, and passed on.

That is the power of God’s Word being shared in a way people can truly receive. This is why orality matters.

Written Scripture is a gift. But for oral learners to fully engage with God’s Word, they need access in a form that speaks to the way they learn, remember, and share. Oral Discipleship helps make that possible.

This is what it looks like when God’s Word comes alive in oral communities.🧡

🙏 Please pray for the local leaders now sharing Scripture with their communities. Pray that God would soften hearts, raise up disciple-makers, and use His Word to bring lasting transformation.

🙌 Celebrating what only God could do.

For the Inthar people of Myanmar, where believers make up just 1% of the population and many cannot read, access to Scripture has felt impossible. But God was preparing something far greater than they could have imagined.

After five years of dedicated work, a small group of believers completed the Oral New Testament in their heart language. Earlier this month, pastors and community leaders gathered to celebrate and pray over the audio devices containing the Oral New Testament, which will now be distributed to homes, villages, and hearts, allowing the Inthar people to hear Scripture for the very first time.

We praise God for answering prayers, as the Inthar people have finally received His Word in their heart language and in the format they understand best.

🙏 Please pray for the Inthar people as God's Word is shared. Pray for open hearts and a movement of faith that transforms the entire region.

Millions are still waiting to hear the Good News—but God is already making a way.
Across Southeast Asia, more than 360 million people remain unreached, many without access to God’s Word in a form they can truly understand. In communities shaped by oral culture, written Scripture alone is often not enough. But through Spoken's Oral Bible Translation and Oral Discipleship teams, Scripture is being spoken, heard, shared, and lived out in heart languages—opening the door for entire communities to encounter God’s Word, many for the very first time.

And we are seeing this happen right now:

🔸 In Myanmar, the Inthar people are celebrating the completion of the Oral New Testament in their own language—God’s Word, now ready to be heard, shared, and carried into their communities.

🔸 In Indonesia, Oral Discipleship has launched alongside translation efforts among the Phinisi language project, creating new opportunities for people not only to hear Scripture, but to understand it, share it, and live it out together.

🔸 In Papua New Guinea, God is opening doors for an oral Bible translation project in a cluster language. Please pray that the Lord will guide the process of finding the right personnel and translators for this initiative, so that one day a community that has never heard the Good News of Jesus will finally receive it.

These are not just milestones. They are the first signs of multiplying movements of transformation.

But the work is not finished.

🙏 Will you join us? Pray for open hearts, bold local leaders, and for God’s Word to spread from one voice to many, across Southeast Asia.

Your prayers and your financial support help bring Scripture where written words alone cannot go.

🇨🇲 For Hijuk and Mbola speakers in Cameroon, this year’s Easter marked a powerful first: they heard the story of the Resurrection of Jesus in their heart language for the very first time.

Getting there wasn’t easy. Heavy rains turned dirt roads into mud, stranding many along the way. But the Lord made a way. Local motorcyclists and neighbors stepped in to help, and together, the community arrived—ready to hear the Good News.
And it changed something.

For the first time, Scripture felt clear, personal, and alive. Seeds were planted that day. In response, church leaders partnered with Spoken field teams to launch their first Oral Discipleship workshop, equipping local leaders to start Discovery Bible groups where people can hear, understand, and live out God’s Word.

In communities facing poverty, health challenges, and conflicting beliefs, these local leaders are essential. They care deeply, and they’re committed to faithfully sharing Scripture in a way their people can truly grasp.❤️

🙏 Please pray for the Hijuk and Mbola translation team as they continue their work, and for the leaders stepping out to share it. Pray that God’s Word would take root, grow deep, and bring lasting transformation.

Pray for Southeast Asia 🙏
Across Southeast Asia, millions are still waiting to hear the truth of God’s Word.

More than 363 million people, across 724 people groups, remain unreached. Nearly half the region has little to no access to the gospel. In places like Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, where Buddhism shapes much of daily life, choosing to follow Jesus often comes at a cost. For many, it can mean strained relationships, cultural pressure, or even ongoing scrutiny.

And yet, some are choosing to follow Him. Would you join us in prayer?

🙏 Pray for those hearing God’s Word for the first time—that it would be clear and life-giving.
🙏 Pray for courage and steady faith for new believers walking through pressure and fear.
🙏 Pray for protection and wisdom for those faithfully sharing the gospel.
🙏 Pray that every unreached community would have the chance to hear and respond.

Delivering Truth...Where Written Words Can't Go

🎧️ For the oral communities we serve, God’s Word is shared through spoken words rather than written ones. That’s why orality is so important. When Scripture is translated, it is often shared orally, through Bible storytelling and songs. It’s not just understood—it's received, remembered, and passed along. People can carry it with them, share it with their families, and pass it to future generations. This is how God's Word moves—alive and active—in oral cultures.

🌎️ Around the world, millions of people still don’t have access to the Bible in a way they can truly understand. For many, reading isn’t how they learn best. Instead, they learn through listening—through stories, songs, and spoken word.

In fact, UNESCO estimates that more than 739 million adults lack basic literacy skills. And for some languages, there isn’t even a written form—making a printed Bible out of reach entirely.

That’s where Oral Bible Translation comes in.
Rather than starting with written text, Scripture is translated directly into spoken form—shared through stories and audio in people’s heart languages. And these aren’t simplified versions. They’re carefully and faithfully translated by local speakers, leaders, and linguists to ensure they’re accurate, clear, and natural.

The result? People can finally hear God’s Word in a way that makes sense to them—and when that happens, it doesn’t stop there. It’s remembered. It’s shared. And it spreads.

Since 2022, the Sertanejo Oral Bible Translation team in Brazil has been faithfully translating God’s Word into their heart language—and it’s clear that God is at work among them.🙌

So far, they’ve completed all four Gospels and are now working on Philippians as they move closer to finishing Colossians. Their vision is big: to translate the entire New Testament in oral form and raise up local leaders who can carry the message even further.

This team isn’t just focused on translation—they’re investing in people. Through discipleship and training, they’re equipping others to join the work and help reach the 23 million Sertanejo speakers across Brazil. They’ve even launched a YouTube channel to share Scripture, making God’s Word more accessible than ever.
At the heart of it all is a simple, powerful desire: that every person in their community would hear, understand, and live out God’s Word. ❤️

We’re so thankful for the progress happening in Brazil and for the support of local churches and leaders walking alongside this team. Please join us in praying—that the translators would be strengthened and encouraged, and that lives would continue to be transformed as God’s Word takes root.

Praise God—the oral New Testament for the Inthar people in Myanmar is complete! 🙌
This is such a meaningful moment. For so long, Inthar speakers had little to no access to the gospel. Now, they can hear the full New Testament in their own heart language—in a way that truly connects with how they learn best: through spoken Scripture.

And we’re already seeing the impact. As a first glimpse of what’s to come, 14 people from the Inthar community have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!

Please pray for these new brothers and sisters—that their faith would take deep root, that they would stay strong in following Him, and that they would be encouraged through God’s Word and through community.❤️

And the work doesn’t stop with translation.
Our Oral Discipleship team is walking alongside local believers—helping them learn, discuss, and live out Scripture, then share it with others through discovery Bible study groups. What happens next is powerful: people engage immediately, take ownership, and begin multiplying disciples within their own communities.🙌

🙏 Please also pray for the Inthar translation team, for the local leaders guiding these groups, and for those who still haven’t heard God’s Word—that their hearts would be open and their lives transformed.

We believe in the power of prayer. 🙏

Time and time again, we’ve seen God open doors in places we never thought possible—making a way to bring His Truth to people who have never heard it. Today, we’re witnessing that in the Asia Pacific and even in some of the most challenging regions of South America.

God hears every prayer. And at Spoken, we’re continually praying for the unreached—that people would come to know Christ personally and grow in a deep relationship with the Father.

We’re so thankful to be partnering with faithful local leaders and churches who are boldly sharing the gospel with communities still waiting to hear.

And you can be part of this. 🧡
If you feel called to pray for unreached oral learners and the leaders serving them, we’d love for you to join our prayer team. We send a short weekly email with specific ways to pray.
