Meet Denny (aka Tubby)

5 years old · About 18 lbs 🐶🐶

On paper, Denny is a Shih-Tzu/Yorkie mix. In person, we see the Shih-Tzu right away (that judgmental stare is unmistakable), but the Yorkie part is still missing. Our best guess is a little Lhasa Apso, plus what can only be described as a corgi butt. Whatever he is, he’s one of a kind.🤗

His foster family calls him “Tubby,” lovingly, because he has the shape and athleticism of a bathtub. Denny came to us as an owner surrender, and he’s ready for a home where he can live his best quiet life.

Will he go for a walk? Sure, at his own pace, and that pace is not fast. Denny is a couch potato at heart, and his very favorite place in the world is his human’s lap. He isn’t much of a barker. If he feels neglected, though (meaning he isn’t the center of your attention), he will let you know with some world-class moping.

Thanks to his short stature, Denny is not much of a jumper. So far he has mastered going up exactly one small step before calling it a day. He’ll happily hop down from the couch or bed, but going up is another story. Don’t bother with pet stairs; he won’t attempt them. Instead, he’ll give you that look that says, “Pick me up, human.” Come bedtime, he loves a cozy dog bed, but snuggling up with his humans is even better.

Another great perk: Denny loves a good bath and brush! Fitting for a guy nicknamed Tubby, he’s happy to soak up the spa treatment, which makes keeping that Shih-Tzu coat looking its best a breeze.❤️

Denny gets along with quiet, reserved dogs, but young, playful pups make him wary. He can also get a little jealous if another dog gets too much of your attention, since he believes all lap time belongs to him. He’d do best as an only dog or with a companion who loves naps as much as he does. Because he’s so laid back, a home without young children would suit him best.🐶🐾

Denny has excellent potty manners, as long as you go with him. Heading out to the backyard alone is not his jam. He prefers a hype squad, so bring your best “good boy!” cheers.❤️

If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key lap warmer who will judge you lovingly from across the couch, Denny might be your guy! 💕

Broggy is an fun-loving, energetic, and goofy one-year-old, 15 pound pup who is equally loving and sweet! He came in with his brother Zenku and they can go together or can go to different forever homes! They are a poodle, Shih Tzu and Maltese mix. 🐶🐶

He gets along with other dogs but he has tendencies to resource guard food, so he will need his new family to be aware when they feed him and give him treats.

Broggy is a fun machine! He loves to play all day long and be close and snuggly to his humans. He has a very funny bark that sounds like he’s trying to talk! At night, he’ll want to sleep in the same room as his family, and he loves to go into the closet and take things that smell like his humans!!! ❤️

He needs a little work on his potty manners, but he’s very people pleasing so that should be very easy!

Zenku is a small, one-year-old, 11 pound Maltese, Shih Tzu, Poodle mix who is just the cutest little snowball! He has lots of energy and loves to play with other dogs (especially big dogs)! He came in with Broggy and they can go together or be separated!

Like his brother Broggy, Zenku can resource guard food and treats so his new family needs to be aware as he gets acclimated in his new forever home. Zenku would do well with another young playmate if he doesn’t go to a home with his brother, and the bigger the better! When it’s time to relax, Zenku is all snuggles, and that’s definitely his happy place! He will want to sleep in the room or bed with his humans, and he’ll need a little work on his potty manners. He’s as sweet and soft as he looks and will make the perfect new family member for the holidays!!💕

Just look at that smile!!! 🐶💕🐾💕🐶

Voorhees is an energetic, 8 year old mini-poodle, who is as unique as his name. He has been waiting a very long time for his forever home! Vorhees is a very special guy and would be the perfect companion in an only dog home, though he does well with other friendly dogs. He loves to jump, especially when he wants your attention! He can be vocal when he wants something, but once he is comfortable, he’s quiet, smiling, and super snuggly! He has cataracts, and is vision impaired, but he can still see, use a doggy door, and easily figure out his surroundings. He understands to go outside to use the bathroom but still will occasionally mark, so he will need a little patience and training. A belly band should help that. 🐶🐶

Vorhees is a very special dog who is often overlooked because he’s so special, but we’re sure he will bring happiness, love, and loyalty to his new family if given the chance. ❤️

We would love to see Shelby (5 years old and 10 pounds) and Dex (3 years old and 8 pounds) adopted together. They have become best friends in their foster home and we think they make a gorgeous pair.❤️❤️

Cutie Corduroy 🩵

This 7 yo boy is one of the material gang surrendered from a breeder. He has been making so much progress in his foster home, but he’ll need a special family to keep helping him. 💕

Cody (as foster mom calls him) was terrified at first. He still gets scared very easily but is learning what a loving hand is. He will make sure you know when it’s time to eat! He has done excellent with potty manners, but he is afraid of the door and needs to be carried in/out. 🐾🐾

What does an ideal home look like for this little sweetie?

❌No kids. Loud noises, fast movements, and busy homes are scary

❌No big dogs

❌No travel. The world is very loud and scary. This little guy is happiest at home. He’s not an adventurer

✅ Quiet home with a secure yard. He will not walk on a leash

✅ Pawrents who are home most of the time

✅A crate or other safe space with comfy beds & blankets

✅Kind loving hearts who understand Corduroy Cody needs a lot of patience

✅ Preferred: Other calm small dog(s) to help him learn. He doesn’t play much with his foster siblings but he watches them closely.

This little guy deserves to find a home all his own, with pawrents who will love him just as he is. The effort will be worth it. Seeing the progress this brave little boy has made in just a couple of months is incredible. He has so much to give, he just needs the right family to find him 🩵
