Celebrating the adoption of Regina and Gretchen! We had some very nice repeat adopters come find new besties for LWAS adoptee Urchin. The gals instantly formed a pile and gave each other kisses. Wishing them a long happy life together at home!

Thanks to Creative Arts Studio for having us again this week with our rescue pets! We brought Taco and Burrito the guinea pigs, Topaz the turtle, Doug and Pork Chop the degus, Pete the beetle, and special guest Mochi the dragon! The artists did a great job capturing the character of the critters.

We are so excited to be returning to Farmers Market+ At The Dole this season! We will host our booth once a month from June-October, bringing animal experts, ecofacts, stickers, and activities to market guests. We also bring a different live animal ambassador to each market, and the species is decided by the weather that day.

Congrats to Shelton the turtle on getting adopted! We don't get a lot of water turtle adoptions due to their long-lived and high-maintainence nature and their large size. We tend to get hundreds of surrender requests a year for water turtles, but every year we only see about 1-2 serious adopters for them. Shelton will be going to live in a big, beautiful custom enclosure and we are excited for her to get such an upgrade!
