Another great fish fry tonight where 415 hungry folks were served a delicious meal at Ashe Outreach Ministries. If you haven't been yet, you really should give it a try. Most of your neighbors have eaten at the fish fry so ask them what they think. It really is a great event made possible by numerous volunteers as well as those who come to support our food ministry by purchasing a meal.

Here's a shout out to three groups of volunteers: first those who came representing the Ashe County Volunteer Initiative, second a group of ACHS students representing the Beta Club and third, our very own group of dedicated volunteers who give of themselves in numerous ways throughout the month. We are so fortunate to have all these folks come to make our #1 fundraiser a huge success and we deeply appreciate how they support our community.

PS-most of you know that the produce boxes are no longer given out on Saturdays. We are planning to have a Thanksgiving box give away the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving (Nov 21st). This give away will be limited to those possessing a Second Harvest Food Bank pantry card. If you have lost yours or maybe you've never had one, please visit Ashe Outreach any Tuesday through Thursday, 9am to 2 pm to get a card issued. Thanksgiving boxes will only be given to those who have a card in their possession. We won't have time to look up your name on the computer during the distribution. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

For those of you who haven't made it to Riverview's Christmas sale yet, you are in luck. All day Saturday, we will be selling EVERYTHING for 50% of the original price.
