A number of Trumbull County Master Gardener Volunteers took a field trip today to the James H. Barrow Biological Field Station in Portage County.
It is a 500+ acre research and education facility affiliated with Hiram College.
Rebecca Moore, animal care and husbandry expert, guided the group through the facility showing how staff, students and interns work to provide hands-on learning experiences through observations, and field studies. Everyone enjoyed meeting the animal ambassadors,(rehabilitated but not releasable animals) and were amazed at the dedication of all those involved with their healing progress.
