Our purpose is to help animals and families in need and reduce the pet over population. Animal Pawtectors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, volunteer, foster-based rescue organization dedicated to rescuing and providing medical treatment to sick, injured, abandoned, neglected, abused, and unwanted pets. We place dogs and cats in loving, responsible, and committed permanent homes through a comprehensive ad

option process. This includes taking considerable care in finding good matches for both the animal and the family, as well as educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog or cat into their homes and lives. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and are placed in nurturing foster homes while they await their permanent homes. We are dedicated to restoring the physical and emotional health of the dogs and cats under our care as they await adoption. Furthermore, we offer low-cost spay and neuter options to the general public and subsidize emergency, life-saving medical care for those facing unexpected injuries or illnesses. We believe that no healthy pet should have to lose its life as an alternative to treatment when possible. As a nonprofit, we solely rely on donations to help as many animals as possible and continue to move forward with our goals. Thank you for any generosity you may be able to provide. This is Lotus, a recently adopted dog whose life hangs in the balance due to a pyometra diagnosis that resulted from not being spayed. This condition has led to a severe uterine infection, and the dog is currently hospitalized. The family, still reeling from the loss of their previous pet and the associated veterinary debt that had maxed out their Care Credit, faces an impossible decision. We are reaching out for assistance to cover the $900 needed for an emergency surgery, ensuring this doesn't become a fatal situation due to financial constraints.

An emergency situation has arisen where Zoey, after escaping her home, was hit by a car. Animal Pawtectors managed to secure an initial evaluation and administer pain medication. Unfortunately, Zoey's injuries include a fractured pelvis, tibia, and fibula, making immediate surgery crucial. As you are aware, this surgical procedure comes with significant costs. We are asking for help to support Zoey's owner through this critical time, as surgery is her only hope for survival.

UPDATE: 4/11/27

Tank is still recovering with his Dad by his side. (Photo in comments). He is still painful but is still taking meds to help him through this. He is now able to walk with assistance to go outside to potty and is eating and drinking. More to come! Please continue to share.

We are beyond angry right now!!

Tank escaped his home last night. His owners searched for him and later found him shot in a yard. Let that sink in. A defenseless dog is now fighting through pain and trauma because of a senseless act of violence.

A shotgun blast to a dog… who does that? We live amongst cruel people right here in our community.

He has already received veterinary care — care that came at a cost — and we are likely not done. Tank still needs further treatment to give him the best chance at recovery.

We are tired of animal cruelty in Trumbull County. This has to stop. Animals deserve safety, compassion, and protection — not violence.

Please consider donating to Tank’s ongoing care, or sharing and supporting our programs to help other animals in need as well. Your support not only helps Tank heal and continue his treatment, but also allows us to step in for other animals who urgently need care, protection, and a chance at recovery.
