Tri-County Metal Detecting Club

Tri-County Metal Detecting Club Tri-County Metal Detector Club is a group of individuals with an interest in using metal detectors to find treasures, fun, comaraderie and friends.

The Tri-County Metal Detecting Club recently celebrated it's 20th anniversary. Originally formed by a small group of men with an interest in metal detecting, it has grown into a family oriented club of over 100 members. Approximately 1/3 of our members are female. We have members ranging in age from as young as 5 years old, all the way up to where they won't tell their age. Our members come from a

s far away as Cleveland, Akron/Canton, Columbiana, New Castle, Pa. And Sharon, Pa.. Many members travel over an hour, just to participate in this club. Our annual dues are $20 per member with $4 for each additional family member. In the warm months, we meet at a pre-selected site, such as a local park, and hunt as a group. During the cold months, we meet on the third Tuesday of every month at the SCOPE senior center in Cortland, Ohio at 6:30 P.M.. At our meetings, we usually have a free, light meal, provided by the club, with members bringing side dishes. In September, we have our annual picnic and seeded hunt. Last year, we had a steak dinner cooked on the grill, and buried hundreds of coins, tokens, and jewelry for the members to dig up and keep. Many of these items were silver. In November, we have a full Thanksgiving style dinner, complete with turkey, provided by the club. In December, we have a ham dinner and gift exchange. We welcome guests. If you have a detector, or not, if you're a seasoned pro, or just interested in learning about detecting, this is the club for you.

Metal detectors are a must for modern-day treasure hunters. Luke Burbank recently tagged along with a pair of treasure hunters in the Sierra Nevada mountains to see how their efforts are paying off.

All TCMD Club members,

As everyone has heard, we have outgrown our current location at the Cortland Scope Center in Cortland, OH. We have found a facility large enough to handle our club meetings and best of all; it is NO COST for us to use the facility. It is located in Austintown, OH. The building is the Austintown Senior Center, located at 112 Westchester Drive, Austintown, OH 44515. This location is centrally located for all members in OH and PA. The facility meets all the needs we have to run our club meetings during the winter months.

We will be holding our April 19th, 2016 meeting at the Austintown Senior Center. Please pass this information on to friends and family members of the Tri-County Metal Detecting Club. Please enter through the door on the side of the building labeled DAV (Disabled American Veterans).

We will also be a guest speaker at the Austintown Senior Center on April 19, 2016. Setup is at 11:30AM. Any members interested in attending or speaking, please contact Mike Borosko 330-718-5828 or Jesse James 330-442-4704. This will qualify as a Club Meeting Qualifying Event if you attend, you wouldn't have to speak.

The Tri-County Metal Detecting Club would like to thank club member Tony Willmitch for finding this location.
