Are you looking for a position where you can walk alongside a survivor and make a difference? The Potter's Hands Foundation is hiring a Restoration Coach to oversee evening/overnight/weekend operations of our Safe House program. The individuals in this position must maintain the security and confidentiality needed for this type of specialized program. If necessary, you will assist in conflict or crisis situations and will be responsible for the maintenance of documentation, ensuring the smooth operation of the program during assigned hours. The Restoration Coach will work with other staff & volunteers to create a supportive community, helping to meet the needs of each resident. Use the buddy system in public places. At parks, pools, fairs, summer events, bathrooms, trails, and stores, kids should avoid going off alone whenever possible. Keep meeting spots clear and make sure children know how to find staff, security, or another safe adult if separated. Watch for adults or older youth who create special access. Extra attention, private messages, gifts, rides, one-on-one hangouts, or “you’re more mature than other kids” comments can be warning signs when they are used to isolate a child or build dependency. Know that kind adults respect boundaries. Unsafe adults look for ways around them.
