A huge loss to firefighters state wide!!!! RepresentativeMike Clampitt was an amazing advocate for professional firefighters and union members during his time in the NC House of Representatives. Rest easy brother Clampitt, you will definitely be missed!!!!

The Charlotte Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 660, mourns the passing of Representative Mike Clampitt — a dedicated public servant, a proud union member, and a steadfast advocate for firefighters across North Carolina.

Representative Clampitt never forgot where he came from. As a longtime union member and firefighter, he carried our values with him to Raleigh, consistently standing up for those who serve on the front lines. He understood the sacrifices firefighters make and worked tirelessly to ensure our voices were heard.

His legacy is one of service, integrity, and unwavering support for the fire service community. The impact he made will be felt for generations.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Same story, different budget year for these guys!!!! Year after year the City of Salisbury, North Carolina - Government puts firefighter pay and staffing at the bottom of the budgetary priority list, and year after year, they lose great, qualified and experienced firefighters to better paying cities with significantly less BS!!!! Time to show the public and your firefighters where your budgetary priorities are and take care of the great guys who love your city and your department and want to stay!!! Give them the manpower, give them raises, and get out of this terrible cycle you guys have been in for YEARS!!!!

When people ask what the does for me, we work tirelessly at the local, state and federal levels to ensure better benefits and safer working conditions for our members and their families. This is groundbreaking and life changing legislation for the families of our brother and sister firefighters that we all to often lose as a result of cancer. With firefighter cancer rates rising to alarming levels and firefighter mortality rates from the cancers we get as a direct result of carcinogens were are constantly exposed to, I am thankful that our International Association of Fire Fighters and federal government have passed this legislation Honoring Our Fallen Heroes

In a historic development, the U.S. Senate has passed the IAFF-endorsed Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act as part of the National Defense Authorization Act
