Join us for a Living History Day celebrating the Celtic origins of Halloween! Costumes are encouraged, and guests can enjoy traditional lawn and folk games alongside the best of local history, nature, and more. 🍂🎯

Come learn and experience: real local history, Catawba cultural arts, 🍁 and native plant lore. 🌾Please note a schedule change: we'll begin inside historic Cedar Grove today at 2:00 with presentations and the Catawba artisan and pottery showcase, and then move outside for drumming and dance. It's not too late to join us today; the more the merrier! Also, the historic Hugh Torance House and Store will be open today from 2:00 to 5:00. Free and open to all, tickets required, donations are appreciated.

✨’Tis the Season at the Historic Sharpe House!✨
We’re now accepting applications for the Footmen Program at the Sharpe House! Seeking young ladies and gentlemen ages 12-18 to learn traditional service roles as Footmen and Maids for upcoming holiday events! ❤️In addition to specialized training, the skills learned through this program have prepared past graduates for opportunities in the hospitality industry, secondary education, and the military. Accepted applicants ages 12-13 receive volunteer service hours, and ages 14-18 receive hourly compensation for their services.

🌟 Last night, while our newest exhibit was being hung in the Center Hall at Cedar Grove, a tiny visitor was discovered studying the work of Luis Ardila. It was a sweet little native Green Anole (Anolis carolinensis), also called the Carolina anole or American chameleon, which we safely relocated outside. They can change colors quickly from vibrant green to brown and are remarkable creatures. 🦎

The new show opens next Saturday for the HEARTS Catawba Nation '26 event and will be up through our December HEARTS Winter Wisdom event. 🍁 Entitled "Essence of Nature," the show features incredible artwork by Luis Ardila, Jonathan Grauel, Penny Oliver, and Molly Broxterman Partyka, made possible in partnership with Nine Eighteen Nine Studio Gallery. 🍂
