🇺🇸 Labor Day Office Closure 🇺🇸

Today, Smithville Community Coalition recognizes the dedication, hard work, and contributions of workers throughout our community and beyond.

In observance of Labor Day, the SCC office will be closed Monday, September 7, 2026. We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe, restful, and meaningful Labor Day with family and friends. Thank you to all who work each day to help build stronger families and a stronger community.

The Smithville Community Coalition regularly shares information about local events, programs, workshops, resources, volunteer opportunities, community services, and other ways to get involved.

Some may offer support. Some may help you learn something new. Others may simply be a great opportunity to connect with your neighbors and community.

Historic Smithville is more than a neighborhood. It is a community built on generations of family, faith, resilience, Black history, and a deep sense of belonging. ❤️

On August 28, Smithville Community Coalition is participating in Give 8/28, a day dedicated to supporting Black-led and Black-benefiting nonprofit organizations.

Your contribution helps SCC continue the important work of preserving and revitalizing Historic Smithville while helping longtime residents remain connected to the community they helped build. Donations support efforts including affordable and workforce housing, critical home repairs, aging-in-place assistance, housing stability, resident programs, pathways to homeownership, historic preservation, and community-led revitalization.

Every gift - large or small - is an investment in Smithville’s history and its future.
