🚨 Hurricane Season Is Here. Are You Ready? 🚨

At Operation Helo, we’ve seen firsthand what happens when communities lose communication during a disaster.

During Hurricane Helene, entire towns were cut off. Roads disappeared. Cell service failed. Families had no warning about what was coming next.

One emergency alert can make the difference between being prepared… and being trapped.

That’s why we’re encouraging EVERYONE — not just in North Carolina, but across the country — to sign up for your local emergency alerts TODAY.

📲 Severe weather.
📲 Flash flooding.
📲 Tornadoes.
📲 Wildfires.
📲 Evacuations.
📲 Shelter locations.
📲 Life-saving updates.

Preparedness starts long before the storm arrives.

If you live in North Carolina, you can search for your county’s emergency alert sign-up page here: https://shorturl.at/SQ0Gq

And no matter where you live in America — now is the time to know how your local emergency management office communicates during a crisis.

Hope favors the prepared. 🚁

Hurricane Season is officially here. It only takes one storm to change everything. If you aren’t signed up for local emergency alerts, now’s the time! “Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’” — Mary Anne Radmacher

No matter what last week looked like… today is a new opportunity to rise, refocus, and keep moving forward. One mission, one goal, one step at a time. 🚁❤️

We are proud to see North Carolina’s State Fire Marshal, Brian Taylor, representing our state in important conversations focused on wildfire preparedness and community readiness.

Strong partnerships between emergency management leaders, fire departments, and response organizations such as Operation Helo are critical to protecting communities before disaster strikes. We’re grateful for leaders who continue working to strengthen preparedness efforts across North Carolina and beyond. 🚁🔥

🚁 Today’s training mission was about more than helicopters landing in a parking lot — it was about preparedness, partnership, and protecting our communities before disaster strikes.

We’re incredibly grateful to the residents and staff at Stanley Total Living Center for welcoming Operation Helo during today’s training exercise. Building relationships, identifying safe landing zones ahead of emergencies, and assisting them with their disaster preparedness planning are all critical parts of ensuring communities are ready when every second counts.

One of the most meaningful moments today came through Operation Helo volunteer Clint Hartness, whose father is a resident there. Seeing families, residents, volunteers, and first responders come together reminds us exactly why we do this work. ❤️

Preparedness saves lives — and training today helps ensure we’re ready tomorrow.

⚠️ WEATHER ALERT ⚠️

We’re sharing this important update from NC Emergency Management regarding the potential for scattered flash flooding across North Carolina today.

Please stay weather aware, avoid flood-prone areas, and remember:

🚫 Turn Around. Don’t Drown.

Never attempt to drive through floodwaters. Conditions can change rapidly, and your safety matters.

At Operation Helo, we know firsthand how quickly severe weather can impact communities. Take a few moments today to make sure emergency alerts are enabled on your phone and your family has a plan in place.

Stay safe, North Carolina. ❤️

⛈️ Hazardous Weather Update ❗️

⚠️Scattered to widespread showers and storms are forecast this afternoon statewide. The primary threat for today is scattered flash flooding, especially in areas that received heavy rainfall yesterday. You can see the full forecast by visiting ReadyNC.Gov/Weather .

🌧️You can be prepared by making sure you are informed. Enable emergency alerts on your cell phone, sign up for notifications from your local emergency management office, and have a plan on where you will go if you need to move away from a flood-prone area. Visit ReadyNC.Gov for more info on how you can be prepared.

🚫Do Not Drive Through Floodwaters! You cannot tell the depth of the water from inside your vehicle or if the roadway remains intact. Turn Around. Don't Drown!

🎖️ “There is nothing nobler than risking your life for your country.” – Nick Lampson

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything in service to this nation. Their sacrifice is the reason we can serve others in freedom and safety.

At Operation Helo, we carry their legacy forward — not just with words, but through action. Every mission we fly and every community we support is a tribute to the spirit of service they lived and died for.

❤️ From all of us at Operation Helo — may we never forget. 🇺🇸

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave everything for this country. 🇺🇸

At Operation Helo, we work alongside veterans, first responders, pilots, and volunteers every day who understand the true meaning of service and sacrifice.

This weekend isn’t just the unofficial start of summer. It’s a reminder that freedom was never free.

May we honor the fallen not only with remembrance — but by continuing to serve one another with compassion, courage, and purpose.

❤️🤍💙

National EMS Week reminds us that behind every disaster response… every evacuation… every life saved… there are EMS professionals answering the call with courage, skill, and compassion. 🚑❤️

From the first moments of crisis to the long road of recovery, EMS workers are often the calm in the chaos — working side-by-side with pilots, first responders, and volunteers to help communities when they need it most.

At Operation Helo, we know we could not accomplish our mission without the dedication of EMS professionals across this nation.

This week, and every week, we thank you for your service, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to others.

💙 Happy National EMS Week from all of us at Operation Helo.
