Our Senior Spotlight series continues with another extraordinary achievement as we celebrate our second Class of 2026 Valedictorian, Lillian Stubblefield!

Being named Valedictorian is a remarkable accomplishment that reflects years of hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence. At Riverview, this honor carries an even greater significance as our students continually rise to the challenge of a rigorous curriculum and set exceptionally high standards for academic success. Achieving this distinction requires not only academic talent, but also determination, discipline, and a heart committed to making the most of the opportunities God has provided.

We are incredibly proud of Lillian and grateful for the impact she has made on our school community throughout her time at Riverview. As she prepares to take the next step in her journey, we are excited to see where the Lord leads her and all that He has planned for her future.

Today’s Senior Spotlight is especially exciting as we celebrate one of our two Class of 2026 Valedictorians!

Earning the title of Valedictorian reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence. At Riverview, the stakes are especially high, as our students continually challenge themselves through a rigorous curriculum and have set an incredibly high standard of achievement. This honor is a testament not only to outstanding grades, but also to the discipline, character, and commitment required to excel in a demanding academic environment while honoring God through faithful stewardship of the gifts He has given.

We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and the example they have set for those around them. As graduation approaches, we are excited to see where the Lord leads them next and how He will continue to use their talents and passions for His glory.

Here's another little sneak peek at all the fun our 5th & 6th graders packed into Outdoor School last week! 🏕️🔥

From learning wilderness survival skills like how to build a fire (and mastering the key ingredients needed to keep it burning) to constructing shelters, our students were putting their outdoor know-how to the test.

Of course, it wasn't all hard work. There was paintball action, plenty of friendly competition, and a breakfast crew that deserves some serious recognition—our teachers and Leadership Team were flipping pancakes like seasoned pros! 🥞💪
.. And consecutive games of Trashcan and Tortilla left us laughing so hard we nearly needed wilderness survival skills to recover. 😂

Our 5th & 6th graders have officially landed at Outdoor School and are already having the BEST time! 🌲🏕️

The day kicked off with unpacking, cabin assignments, and exploring the grounds before jumping straight into wilderness survival sessions, BB gun target shooting, and plenty of outdoor adventure. Tonight wraps up with evening chapel, fireside time, and night games… also known as the reason nobody will be tired at bedtime despite being outside for 12 straight hours 😴

We’re also thrilled to once again be joined by our friends from South Beach Christian School for a week full of adventure, laughter, teamwork, and probably a little too much cabin snack trading.

As the week kicks off, we’d love for you to join us in praying over everyone helping make Outdoor School happen — the planners, volunteers, counselors, kitchen crew, staff putting in the extra hours, and our fearless Leadership Team keeping the whole adventure running smoothly behind the scenes.

Outdoor School may look like campfires and chaos from the outside, but it’s also packed with growth, friendship, faith, survival skills, and memories these students will carry for years to come. 🌲🏕️

As we pause this Memorial Day to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country, we are reminded that the freedoms we enjoy today came at a great cost.

Earlier this month, during our East Coast trip, our school had the incredible honor of being selected to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.

Four of our students were chosen to meet with the Junior Guard before the ceremony, where they learned the proper etiquette and reverence required for participating in this sacred tradition before the Changing of the Guard. Watching our students step into that moment with such maturity and respect was something truly special.

We are deeply grateful our school was given the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful ceremony. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students and staff alike, and a humbling reminder of the sacrifice behind the freedoms we so often take for granted. Today, we honor and remember those who gave everything for our nation.

In honor of Memorial Day, our first grade students visited Sunset Memorial Cemetery to help place flags and crosses in remembrance of those who faithfully served our country.

Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW Post 3182 spent time with our class sharing the meaning and importance of honoring our fallen service members on Memorial Day. Following their visit, our students and families had the privilege of placing flags and crosses at gravesites throughout the cemetery as a small act of gratitude and remembrance.

Later, our class will return to help respectfully remove the flags and crosses as well. We are thankful for the opportunity to teach our students the value of service, sacrifice, honor, and remembrance.
