🌏✈️ Last Tuesday, our Rotary Club had the pleasure of hearing from Charlie Kocher about his recent trip to Rotary International in Taiwan.

Charlie shared highlights from his travels and reminded us that Rotary’s mission reaches far beyond our own community. It’s inspiring to see how people from around the world come together through service, friendship and a shared commitment to making a difference.

Thank you, Charlie, for bringing a piece of your journey back to Coos Bay and giving us a glimpse of Rotary on a global scale. We were happy to gather for a group photo to commemorate the occasion! ❣️

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out and supported the July 3rd Wine Walk! 🍷🎆

Every $10 wine glass and wristband donation helps make a real difference right here in our community. Because of your participation, the Coos Bay–North Bend Rotary Club is able to give approximately $30,000 each year to local nonprofits and community projects that make Coos County a better place to live.

This photo is just a small representation of our Rotary Club Members who helped make the evening possible, but the true impact starts with YOU. Thank you for coming out, supporting local businesses and helping us give back to our community. We couldn’t do it without you! 💙

~$3200 to send students from MHS and NBHS to RYLA. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.
~$2550 to send students from MHS and NBHS to Boys State and Girls State.
But that’s not all. In April and May alone, the foundation awarded grants to the:
~MHS Band to attend a Pearl Harbor event-$2000.
~$980 for Oregon Coast Music Association.
~$2000 for Coos County Community Concert Association.
~$2000 for Music on the Bay.
~$3300 for Oregon Coast Artisans Trade Education Collective (OCATEC)
~$2000 for the Shore Acres Holiday Lights Shuttle Bus.

The foundation is funded by an endowment from Dr. Ennis Keizer, Rotarians, and the community through the annual Festival of Trees.

But the Foundation is just one of the many areas where Rotary has an impact. Learn more about how Rotary touches those living in our community at www.coosbaynorthbendrotary.org. And if you’re 21+, join us at wine walk Friday (5pm-7pm).

Two fantastic Coos Bay-North Bend Rotarians were honored at our club meeting by District 5110 for their leadership in guiding our club and projects and making a real impact in our community and on our fellow citizens.

👏Mariss Stevens was recognized as a Superstar Rotarian🤩. Though she's newer to Rotary, joining just last year, she is already making a meaningful impact through service. She is leading several projects and is clearly committed to strengthening our community.

🙌Tom Bennett, a Rotarian since 1989, was recognized by the District for recruiting 10 new members since 2020. His impact is also seen in his deep involvement in club projects and in his service as the club's secretary for more than a decade.

Special thanks to the district's Membership Chair, Kelly Hill, who presented the awards, and for recognizing these Rotarians for helping guide and sustain Rotary's work. ✨🎉Congratulations, you two, on your well-deserved recognition.
