Fossil-fuel-powered equipment is being replaced increasingly with more efficient electric alternatives. Achieving energy savings at scale will require substantial investment in the power grid to transfer energy across regions, integrate clean energy sources such as solar, wind, nuclear, and geothermal power, and balance supply and demand.
In this educational session, Tom Hamlin of the New London Energy Committee will discuss:
1) The key factors driving the electrification of residential and small commercial buildings.
2) The types of investments required to establish a robust electrical grid infrastructure.
Presenter: Tom Hamlin is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He retired from a professional career in the filtration and separations industry where he held roles of increasing responsibility in manufacturing and process engineering, operations management, research, and product development. He was an adjunct faculty member at the undergraduate and graduate level teaching engineering and technical management courses.
See you on Thursday!
