🌲 Help Build More Trails in Conifer! 🚴🥾🏃

Exciting things are happening in our mountain community!

A community fundraising effort is underway to help build new trails on the Conifer High School campus. If the fundraising goal is reached, Jefferson County Open Space plans to connect these trails with Meyer Ranch, Flying J Ranch, and all three Conifer schools, creating an incredible network for our community to enjoy.

These trails would provide opportunities for:
🚵 Mountain bikers
🏃 Cross country runners
🚶 Walkers and hikers
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families and community members who love spending time outdoors

If you'd like to support the project, you can donate or learn more here:

Even if you're not able to contribute, sharing this post helps spread the word and brings us one step closer to creating more places for our community to connect, explore, and enjoy the outdoors together.

Thank you for supporting the people, organizations, schools, and volunteers who make Conifer such a wonderful place to call home. ❤️

Canyon Courier

For residents in Conifer and many other mountain homes, drought is frightening for more than just the threat of wildfire.

PLEASANT PARK ROAD EVACUATION ROUTE PROJECT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

This Saturday, June 27th 7:00am to 3:00pm

Massive wildfires are becoming more common / Safe Evacuation Routes are becoming more critical / Past wildfire evacuation routes in the Marshall Fire & Paradise, CA fire and so many more have been described as “Driving straight into an inferno, with smoke too thick, flames too high, and winds too strong to endure.” If a wildfire would start, Pleasant Park Road, a major Evacuation Route out of Conifer to Denver area, or even into Conifer if the fire starts below, would most likely trap evacuees in traffic jams with flames along the side of the road.

Join the Conifer Rotary Crew and community volunteers to thin the PLEASANT PARK ROAD EVACUATION ROUTE. It’s fun and a great way to meet new friends and your neighbors!

Conifer Rotary Club is organizing. They have insurance for all volunteers, pay the costs for traffic plans and slash drop-off, and obtain the county permits. The county is providing traffic control. CORE has already cut trees along power lines, and local foresters have marked trees of interest to property owners. Many tree companies are offering free or heavily discounted work on the largest trees. Volunteers with trailers, chippers and simply to haul & load trailers are needed.

Saturday, June 27, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m: Pleasant Park Road, south of Oehlmann Park Road, starting on the east side. Professionals will cut the largest trees. We need trucks and trailers. Most people will be hauling branches to trailers. We need YOU, especially younger (teenage volunteers! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0849AEAF2DAAFA7-63904449-june

WILDFIRE PREPAREDNESS & EVACUATION PLANNING

Wednesday, July 8th
Open House 6:00 PM Presentation 6:30 PM
Conifer High School Auditorium/Cafeteria 10441 County Highway 73, Conifer

Whether you've lived in our mountain community for decades or recently moved here, this meeting will provide practical information and tools to help you prepare for the next wildfire.

Topics include:

• Knowing your Planning Unit and why it matters
• How emergency notifications are delivered
• Understanding evacuation notices and how to respond
• What to expect during a wildfire evacuation
• Creating a personal evacuation plan for your household, pets, and livestock
• Resources available to help you prepare before an emergency occurs

Please make plans to attend. The information shared could help protect the people, animals, and property you care about most!

We hope to see you there—bring a friend!
