Proposed development gets a lot of attention from the residents of Conifer. CAC understands this, and features representatives from Jefferson County Planning and Zoning at our Town Hall Meetings to provide current information, early in the planning process, so residents can be in the know. In addition, CAC provides regular updates on proposed planning projects, plus ways that you can access Jeffco’s website to find out more details on proposed projects near you.

Elk Creek Fire and Inter-Canyon Fire started the Community Ambassador Program (CAP) in 2020. The program provides support to neighborhoods that are organizing to reduce their wildfire risk. The Ambassadors are both representatives of their neighborhoods and volunteers with the fire districts, thus serving as links between residents and fire personnel.

Our area remains in a Stage 1 Burn Ban. Each county and the national forest have slightly different requirements, but they all share bans on open burning, limits on smoking outside, and bans on fireworks. Your awareness strengthens the entire community.
