Late post: September 7th, 2025, Charlotte: We are sincerely grateful to Dainna Ramchandani for inviting Breast Cancer Hub (B*H) to the Navratri & Diwali Mela and supporting our cause. A big shout-out to Ruthvika Kambam for leading the B*H outreach at the event and flawless ex*****on.
We are truly proud of our B*H ambassadors-Shriya Jaishankar, Saanvi Maaji, Aarav Chopra, and Ruthvika Kambam-for spreading cancer awareness and sharing B*H’s lifesaving resources on early detection, patient support, and care.

Deep appreciation to Ram Kambam and Rekha Dharmala Kambam for their unwavering support, and a special thank-you to Reshma Jaishankar for all your help. We are also grateful to everyone who stopped by the B*H booth and engaged with us.

During the outreach, we distributed brochures outlining all of our 100% free grassroots services and contact information, ensuring that anyone encountering a suspicious case can reach out to me directly for treatment guidance and support. The brochures also included QR codes for easy access to:
Breast Self-Exam Cards for Her and Him, in 27 languages; Early detection cards for various cancers; Details on our one-of-a-kind “B*H Know Your Breasts” App, available in 27 languages and for all genders-the first of its kind; Direct contact info for those seeking guidance or noticing symptoms. To amplify engagement, we shared color-coded wristbands and keyrings: Pink for breast cancer in women; Blue for breast cancer in men; Purple for all cancers and all genders-symbolizing unity. We also handed out bookmarks featuring ribbon colors of various cancers, promoting awareness, inclusion, and solidarity.
We shared details about our handcrafted Patient Care Packages, lovingly created by B*H’s dedicated volunteer seamstresses. Each set included: A heart-shaped pillow with a pocket for hot/cold packs for post-surgery relief; A Chemo Port Car Seat Belt Pillow for travel comfort; Soft hats for those experiencing chemo-related scalp sensitivity; Handmade cards with original, uplifting artwork. These gifts go beyond physical comfort-they embody hope, love, and unwavering support.

Together, we continue to raise awareness, provide support, and most importantly-save lives.

With gratitude,
Dr Lopamudra Das Roy , on behalf of Breast Cancer Hub Family

Honoring a Beautiful Partnership: Farewell to Dee’s We're Sew Creative: It was a deeply emotional and heartfelt moment today as, on behalf of Breast Cancer Hub (B*H), we said farewell to our cherished partner, Dee’s We’re Sew Creative in Concord, as the shop comes to a close. Over the years, I have been fortunate to build friendships with each of them, and it was truly difficult for me personally as well to see this meaningful chapter come to an end-and to think I won’t get to see or meet them in the same way again.

Our journey together began in January 2023 when Brenda first reached out with a vision of service and compassion. What followed was an extraordinary partnership built on kindness, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to supporting cancer patients and their families.

We are deeply grateful to the incredible core team-Sandy, Brenda, Diana, Jeanette, Jamelle, Blake, and so many others-who selflessly volunteered their time, talent, and expertise to create specialized B*H Patient Care Packages. Each item was lovingly handcrafted with perfection and detailing, to bring comfort, healing, and hope to those facing one of life’s most difficult battles.

A special thank you to Jasleen Kohli for baking the beautiful delicious blueberry cakes that made our farewell gathering so memorable, and to Madhumita Chatterjee for the heartfelt handmade souvenir that will forever remind the team of this remarkable partnership. Grateful to our B*H leaders - Jasleen & Madhumita for making the send-off special.

Impact: In partnership with Dee’s We’re Sew Creative, over the years countless patients received heart-shaped comfort pillows with pockets for hot or cold packs (post surgery), specialized chemo port seatbelt pillows that provide protection and relief while traveling, and soft hats designed for sensitive scalps affected by chemotherapy. These thoughtful creations have made a meaningful difference in the lives of B*H Cancer Fighters throughout North Carolina and across the United States.
We have also provided these care packages to cancer patients at Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s Cancer and the Department of Supportive Oncology Cancer Resource Center, bringing comfort and support throughout their cancer journey.

As we say farewell to Dee’s We’re Sew Creative, we are grateful that this meaningful project will carry on. Through the careful planning of Diana, owner of Dee’s We’re Sew Creative, the partnership is being transitioned to Quilt Patch Fabrics, Ltd. Patch Fabrics. We appreciate this thoughtful handoff and look forward to a continued and valued collaboration.

With gratitude,

Dr Lopamudra Das Roy , on behalf of Breast Cancer Hub Family

February 6th, 2025: My visit to the Hospital-University of Benin, Edo City, Nigeria, was truly eye-opening. Although Breast Cancer Hub(B*H) has been serving Nigeria since 2021 in collaboration with Oke Creative Future Foundation (OCFF), this was my first opportunity to meet our partners and the communities we support in person.

I am grateful to Prof. Vincent Adams, Consultant Public Health Physician; Dr. Ikhile Emmanuel, Consultant Radiation and Clinical Oncologist; Dr. Oboh Evaristus O., Consultant Radiation and Clinical Oncologist; and Prof. Caroline Omoti, Consultant Haemato-Oncologist, for sharing their experiences and helping us better understand the healthcare challenges facing the region. Discussions with healthcare professionals highlighted the significant challenges faced by underserved populations, including poverty, inadequate infrastructure, frequent power outages, limited access to clean water, and barriers to cancer care. These firsthand insights reinforced the urgent need to expand community screening, patient treatment, and research initiatives.

It was deeply rewarding to see the impact of B*H's work and to witness how the support of our donors and partners is helping improve access to cancer care for those most in need.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Letter Okeoghene, Founder of Oke Creative Future Foundation, and the entire OCFF team for their invaluable collaboration.
