July 25, 2026: A Farewell Wrapped in Love from Dee’s We’re Sew Creative💗
My heart is filled with gratitude for this beautiful, priceless handmade blanket gifted with so much love by Brenda, Jamelle, and Melissa. Lovingly crafted by Diana on behalf of Dee’s We’re Sew Creative, this thoughtful cancer-themed creation is a treasured symbol of a journey built on compassion, service, and love.

In today’s busy world, where handmade treasures are so rare, receiving such a meaningful and beautifully designed gift is truly a blessing. Diana, thank you for weaving so much love, kindness, and compassion into every stitch. This blanket will forever remind me of the incredible hearts behind this mission, the friendships built, and the countless lives touched along the way.

Our partnership began in January 2023, when Brenda reached out with a vision of service and compassion. What followed was an extraordinary collaboration built on kindness, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to supporting cancer patients and their families. A heartfelt thank you to the incredible core team-Sandy, Brenda, Diana, Jeanette, Jamelle, Blake, Melissa, and so many others-who selflessly shared their time, talent, and expertise to create specialized B*H Patient Care Packages. Each creation was handcrafted with immense care and attention to detail, bringing comfort, hope, and healing to those facing cancer.

Through this partnership, countless Breast Cancer Hub Cancer Fighters across North Carolina, and across the United States have received heart-shaped comfort pillows to insert ice pack or hot pack post surgery, chemo port seatbelt pillows, soft handmade hats, designed to support them throughout their cancer journey.

These meaningful care packages have also brought comfort to patients at Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s Cancer, the Atrium - Department of Supportive Oncology Cancer Resource Center, and AdventHealth Parker Cancer Center, Colorado.
As we say farewell to Dee’s We’re Sew Creative, we celebrate the beautiful bond created together. Through Diana’s thoughtful planning, this meaningful project will continue through a transition to Quilt Patch Fabrics. We are deeply grateful for this thoughtful handoff and look forward to continuing this valued relationship.

Quilt Patch Fabrics, Ltd. - A new chapter with B*H (July 25, 2026): My heartfelt gratitude to Quilt Patch Fabrics for partnering with Breast Cancer Hub (B*H) to continue our Patient Care Package Project.
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful owners, Ms. Penny Reynolds, Ms. Barbara Greene, Ms. Cristie Kiser, and Mr. Bryan Gregory, for your kindness, support, and partnership. A very special thank you to Ms. Jeannine Predmore for coordinating this collaboration, helping with the logistics of our patient care packages, and welcoming me with such warmth and love. The dedication and compassion of the Quilt Patch Fab leadership team mean so much to B*H and the patients we serve.

It was a meaningful day as I introduced B*H to the community and shared our life-saving cancer awareness and educational screening tools. We distributed brochures highlighting B*H's 100% free grassroots services, with QR codes linking to our Breast Self-Exam Cards (28 languages), early detection resources, and the B*H Know Your Breasts app (27 languages, all genders). I also demonstrated breast self-examination using a prototype breast model, allowing participants to feel simulated lumps and better understand what to look for during their own self-exams. We further promoted awareness through color-coded wristbands, keyrings, and cancer awareness bookmarks. I was deeply touched by the warmth, encouragement, and support of everyone who attended.

As we say goodbye to Dee’s We’re Sew Creative, we are especially grateful to Diana for thoughtfully transitioning this partnership to Quilt Patch Fabrics, ensuring this meaningful project continues to bring hope and comfort to those facing cancer.

Together, we are making a difference-one care package, one conversation, and one life at a time. 💕 Thank you for believing in our mission.

October 30, 2025: NAACP Health Committee, Winthrop University, South Carolina: A heartfelt thank you to Shaniya Jeffcoat, Chair, and the entire organizing team for inviting me to be part of the Breast Cancer Panel. It was my privilege to share insights on breast cancer awareness, early detection and screening, treatment, patient support, and Breast Cancer Hub (B*H)’s grassroots, end-to-end model of care.
