June 15 marks the end of 10 years for Cat Smart Coalition.

Thanks to your support, we have assisted with spay and neuter for over 9,000 cats and we have helped countless humans who have needed guidance and support for long term care for them.

As we celebrate our anniversary, we could use a little help for our colony caregivers. If you can purchase cat food from our wish list, it would make a difference.

☀️ Now is the time to beat the heat before more kittens are hitting the street! Sign up is open for Wednesday, June 17th Friendly Cats ONLY mobile spay/neuter clinic! 🐈‍⬛🐈 🐈‍⬛🐈

(Sorry no small dogs for this date, we will see more of them soon - thanks for understanding!)

Complete the online form AND pre-pay to secure your spot!
• Friendly and healthy, owned cats under 6 years, no smushy-faced cat breeds please.
• Kittens must be a min of 12 wks & weigh 3-3.5 lbs.
• Rowan County Animal Shelter vouchers accepted for adopted shelter cats. Voucher applies to surgery only - all other fees are due.
• Cats must come in CLEAN secure, hard-sided carriers ONLY (absolutely NO wire crates, fabric, mesh, back-pack, or bubble carriers, or cardboard boxes).
• One cat per carrier for safety & recovery.
• No unsocialized cats accepted on this date.
• Limit 3 cats per family.

Surgery Costs:
• Cat Spay: $85 | Cat Neuter: $70
• Additional services available at added cost

The next evening meeting is on Monday, June 15, at 6:30 PM ET.

The Pet Grief Group meetings are presented by Passionate Paws Animal Hospital and sponsored by Faithful Companion - Carolinas.

Meetings are free and open to any pet parent. Pet parents experiencing anticipatory grief may also find these sessions helpful. Please feel free to share and invite others.
April Petrie will be leading these meetings. April holds a B.S. from Palm Beach Atlantic University with additional studies at Wheaton College. She is certified in Death & Grief Studies, Narrative-Focused Trauma Care, and Spiritual Direction, and has extensive counseling and mentoring training. April is an active member and trained group facilitator with NAMI NC and AFSP, and volunteers with Out of the Darkness events. She brings both professional expertise and personal experience to her work, having experienced the sudden loss of a spouse and as a bereaved pet parent to three dogs and three cats.

🐾💙 Need Help Getting Your Pet Spayed or Neutered? 💙🐾

Did you know that Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control offers free spay/neuter services for qualifying Mecklenburg County residents?

Currently, there is approximately a 30-day waitlist, so if you think you may qualify, it's a good idea to apply as soon as possible.

✅ To be eligible, you must live in Mecklenburg County and meet one of the following requirements:

• Have a household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (as determined by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services)

OR

• Be eligible for other government assistance benefits

Spaying and neutering helps prevent unwanted litters, reduces shelter overcrowding, and keeps pets healthier.
