Cooperative Christian Ministry

Cooperative Christian Ministry Operating in its 44th year of service to Cabarrus and Southern Rowan counties.

CCM’s mission remains to meet members of our community where they are, address their current crisis and empower them to move from crisis to restoration. CCM accomplishes this mission with a focus on: relieving hunger and food insecurity, administering financial assistance and addressing homelessness and housing crisis. The ministry’s network of food pantries, crisis financial services and continuu

m of housing programs is built on the support of individuals, businesses and churches throughout our community. CCM’s collaborative program services provide access and deliver education that help to create a path to stability by teaching perseverance and restoring hope among struggling families in our communities. CCM’s 2030 Vision for our Community includes:
• Families who have established safe and affordable housing
• Children who have the benefit of good nutrition, healthy development and access to early childhood education
• Workers who have navigated their path to a chosen career
• Seniors who have enjoyed the benefits of healthy activity and social engagement

CCM’s 2025 New Horizon Strategic Plan reflects CCM’s commitment to DELIVER crisis resources, EXPAND transitional housing, ENGAGE with supportive communities, PROVIDE resource navigation and CREATE volunteer opportunities in Cabarrus and Southern Rowan counties. OUR CORE VALUES are principles which guide our ongoing internal conduct and our relationship with the external community. PRAYER undergirds everything we do and is the most important investment of our board, staff and volunteers make to the ministry. Prayer is the most effective way to discover God's plan for our ministry and the most effective means of employing His blessing on our efforts. EXCELLENCE means understand our role in the Mission and applying our talents, skill and spiritual gifts in a manner that will meet or exceed expectations. It is our purpose to bring glory to God in all that we do and say in carrying out our ministry responsibilities. ENCOURAGEMENT involves affirming the value of each volunteer, staff and supporter; acknowledging the talent, skills and spiritual gifts of each person involved in the ministry with us; and fostering an atmosphere of joy and celebration of what God is doing through us. COMMUNITY encompasses embracing accountability to each other and to our community, maintaining a presence throughout our community, recognizing changing needs and altering our approach to ministry in response to those needs.

One of the challenges every organization faces is staying focused on what matters most.

As responsibilities grow, demands increase, and opportunities multiply, it's easy to lose sight of the mission that brought everyone together in the first place.

Amaha Sheferaw, Chief Program Officer at Cooperative Christian Ministry, shared why his team chose to work with Impact Partners.

He realizes that healthy organizations don't just know what they do and how they do it. They remain grounded in why they do it.

When teams stay connected to their purpose, mission becomes clearer, leadership becomes stronger, and the impact reaches further.

We're grateful for leaders like Amaha and the team at Cooperative Christian Ministry who continue investing in healthy leadership, strong teams, and lasting community impact.

🧡 Donations Needed 🧡
We’re currently in need of a few commonly used household and event supplies that help us serve both our residents and community events well. These everyday items may seem small, but they make a big impact, especially for residents transitioning into higher-level housing programs like the Teaching House.

If you’d like to donate or help restock these essentials, please reach out to Obi Jillcha at [email protected]

This month’s Volunteer Spotlight is Michael Blake! 💙

Michael serves in CCM’s Food Department as a traffic controller, helping welcome clients as they arrive and assisting with both first-time visitors and online pre-orders. His friendly attitude and willingness to serve help create a smooth and welcoming experience for every person who comes through CCM.

Michael shared that one of his favorite parts of volunteering is “meeting the clients and getting to know them, working with great volunteers, and spreading God’s love.”

Thank you, Michael, for faithfully serving our community and showing the love of Christ through every interaction!

What could happen if an entire community chose compassion💙
A parent could breathe easier knowing there’s food on the table.
A neighbor facing hardship could feel seen and supported.
Local organizations could work together to reach more people than ever before.

This is more than a campaign.
It’s people choosing to care for one another.
Through I Love My City, your generosity helps provide food, strengthen community partnerships, and expand support for families across Cabarrus County.

Every dollar represents hope.
Every gift helps change a life.

Help us raise $200,000 by Memorial Day and be part of the impact our community can make together.

As CCM’s Tutoring Program wraps up for the school year, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers who helped make it possible. Because of their time and dedication, 14 students received support with homework, strengthened their reading and math skills, and gained encouragement along the way.

Beyond academics, these volunteers built meaningful connections through crafts, outdoor play, conversations, and lots of laughter. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom.

A special thank you to Alicia, Analicia, Addison (not pictured), Arely (not pictured), and Zuri for investing in our students and making a difference this year! ❤️
