We help Cabarrus County residents move toward wellness by providing comprehensive healthcare. All services are free.

The Community Free Clinic is celebrating 30 years of providing free healthcare and pharmacy services to the adults of Cabarrus County who don't have insurance or access to care. Our patients are within 300% of the Federal Poverty Level, and are unable to get Medicaid, are between jobs, or are working adults who cannot get insurance through the workplace or privately because of cost. The Clinic is a primary care provider, including labwork, treatment, medications, and specialty clinics. We offer preventive, acute, and chronic disease care. We are proud to partner with providers throughout Cabarrus County through Healthnet Cabarrus's Pink Card Program for referrals. The Clinic is privately funded by grants and generous donations from the community, and is not an insurer or part of an insurance network. The Community Free Clinic is a member of the North Carolina Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NCAFCC).

💚 A design created by a volunteer. A message for our whole community.

We're excited to share our new "Healthy Living Starts on Your Plate" shirts and hats, made possible through a healthy food grant and designed by one of our amazing teen volunteers!

Every Wednesday is Wellness Wednesday at the Clinic, where patients receive healthy foods, enjoy cooking demonstrations, and connect with community partners to learn about cancer screenings, medication management, preventive care, and more.

Thank you to our volunteer for creating a design that reminds us of a simple truth: healthy living starts on your plate. If you received a shirt, wear it proudly on Wednesdays and help us spread the message!

Nos emociona compartir nuestras nuevas camisetas y gorras de "La Vida Saludable Comienza en Su Plato", posibles gracias a una subvención para alimentación saludable y diseñadas por una de nuestras increíbles voluntarias adolescentes.

Cada miércoles celebramos Wellness Wednesday (Miércoles de Bienestar) en la Clínica, donde los pacientes reciben alimentos saludables, participan en demostraciones de cocina y se conectan con organizaciones comunitarias para aprender sobre exámenes de detección de cáncer, manejo de medicamentos, atención preventiva y más.

Imagine waiting 30 years to see a doctor.

This week, one of our patients told us that's exactly what she did.

We're protecting her privacy, but her story isn't unique.

People don't wait that long because they want to.

They wait because they're busy taking care of everyone else.

Because they're worried about the cost.

Because they're afraid of what they might hear.

Because a bad experience years ago still lingers.

Because life is complicated.

Then one day, they can't wait any longer.

By the time many patients arrive at Community Free Clinic, they aren't looking for a quick appointment.

They're looking for answers.

They're looking for hope.

They're looking for someone who will take the time to listen.

That's where healing begins.

What comes to mind when you hear the words free clinic?

For many people, it's a crowded room, long waits, and temporary care. The reality is very different.

Community Free Clinic is a real doctor's office. Patients make appointments, receive care from healthcare professionals, and come back for ongoing care to help them stay healthy and avoid unnecessary trips to the emergency room.

We're also challenging another common myth: that free clinics only serve people who aren't working.

Many of our patients work every day. They are neighbors, parents, grandparents, veterans, service workers, caregivers, and employees of local businesses. They're people who contribute to our community but don't have access to affordable health insurance.

Community Free Clinic exists because our community believes everyone deserves access to care before a health concern becomes a crisis.

The Carolinas Care Partnership will be onsite at Community Free Clinic on Wednesday, October 7, from 9:00 AM to Noon providing free, confidential services, including:

✅ HIV testing and education
✅ Information about PrEP (medication that helps prevent HIV)
✅ Free condoms
✅ Support and resources for individuals living with HIV

To better serve our patients, the Community Free Clinic will have new hours starting October 1.

🕗 Open: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
🍽️ Lunch Closure: 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
