We are a group of diverse local business men and women who believe in serving our community and our world. We meet Thursdays at 7:30am.

We volunteer, raise money for community projects, and enjoy a great deal of fellowship and family involvement.

Let’s Talk About Club Assembly!

Today, we came together to celebrate the heart of Rotary and the meaning behind our motto: Service Above Self.

We honored eight members with the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow recognition, celebrating their commitment to making a difference through their own generous contributions and the support of fellow Rotarians. These recognitions reflect the power of individual generosity and the collective impact we make when we support one another.

We also welcomed Jenn Delaney, Director of Sustainability for Greater Cabarrus Foundation, to our Rotary family!

Additionally, we recognized three individuals for their generous giving to CART through the Roger Ackerman Circle.

The room was filled with friends, family, and visiting Rotarians who gathered to celebrate the outstanding service, generosity, and dedication of our members.

These moments remind us that Rotary is about more than what we do. It’s about the lives we touch, the communities we strengthen, and the difference we make together.

We are grateful for our members and proud to be part of a mission that continues to change lives through service.

💙 Captain Robert Kirk Swims for Polio! 🏊‍♂️

Big challenges call for big hearts, and Robert Kirk is diving in to make a difference! 💪
On October 19th, Robert will take on an incredible 4-hour endurance swim to raise funds for Rotary’s mission to eradicate polio worldwide. Every lap represents hope, every donation makes an impact, and every bit of encouragement helps move us closer to a world free of polio!

We are so thankful for Sheriff Van Shaw and his time with us, sharing his assessment of the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office and the important work being done throughout our community.

We are incredibly grateful for our law enforcement officers and the time, dedication, and sacrifice they give to serve and protect our community.

It was especially encouraging to learn about the department’s commitment to mental health, wellness, and support for its team. Investing in the well-being of those who serve helps build a healthier, stronger, and well-trained force.

Sheriff Shaw, thank you for your time, your leadership, and for giving us a deeper look into the work being done to serve Cabarrus County. We truly appreciate you and our law enforcement community! 🇺🇸

This morning we celebrated a special milestone—41 years since our club was chartered on September 11, 1985!

To mark the occasion, we took a look back at the people, projects, and friendships that have shaped our club over the past four decades.

Founding members Bill Cone and Steve Morris joined our club’s first female member, Cyndie Mynatt, and first female president, Anita Brown, for an informal panel discussion led by Past President and emcee extraordinaire Robbie Furr.

These veteran Rotarians shared stories, perspectives, and plenty of wisdom about what makes our club special—from the contributions we’ve made throughout Cabarrus County to the lasting friendships forged along the way.

We even got a glimpse into our club’s early days! Bill brought along an original fundraising T-shirt from the AAU tournaments the club once hosted, as well as an early club bulletin—a fun reminder of just how much history we share.

For 41 years, our club has brought people together through service, fellowship, and a shared commitment to our community. We’re grateful to those who built that foundation and to every Rotarian who continues the tradition today.

Here’s to 41 years—and to the friendships, service and memories still to come! 💙💛

Great meeting this morning!

A big thank you to Brett Mann, Assistant Parks and Rec Director with City of Kannapolis Parks & Recreation and John Eller, County Manager Cabarrus County Governmentfor joining us and educating our club on the upcoming Parks & Recreation GO Bond and Cabarrus County Education GO Bond.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn more about these important investments in our community so we can all head to the polls in November with an educated vote.

Thank you, Brett and John, for sharing your time and expertise with our club!

Cabarrus Rotary held our meeting offsite today at the Cabarrus Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, powered by Flywheel Coworking in Downtown Concord. Thank you to club member Page Castrodale for leading a panel discussion with Flywheel Founder Peter Marsh about this history behind the project, how this innovation center came to our community and how it has become a model for other communities seeking to do something similar.

Thank you to Megan Johnson with the RCCC Small Business Center and Alison Paladino with the Cabarrus Chamber for contributing to the conversation about how co-locating at the Center has allowed them to serve the business community even better. And a special thank you to Melanie Robinson, owner of Did Someone Say Balloons and Mark Shropshire, co-founder of FocalGroove for illustrating the impact the Center has had on business owners.

Lastly, thank you to Flywheel Concord Community Manager Blair Matherly for being a wonderful host and for taking our Rotarians on a tour of the Center after our meeting!

Thank you to Rotarian Cyndie Mynatt and the team at Ben Mynatt Chevrolet for hosting Cabarrus Rotary and leading an insightful discussion on “EVs & Hybrids - What to Know Before You Buy.” As technology continues to evolve, understanding the financial, operational, and long-term considerations of electric and hybrid vehicles is becoming increasingly important for both businesses and consumers.
