Elder Orphan Care exists to provide help and hope to older adults aging alone or without adequate assistance.

We serve older adults in Cabarrus County, North Carolina and support partners in Romania, where EOC began in 2011. Elder Orphan Care currently is providing practical help and sharing God's love in Romania, where EOC was birthed, and in North Carolina, where we are based. At present we serve older adults in need in western Romania and in Cabarrus and Rowan counties of North Carolina.

We had a great kickoff last weekend for Christmas Stockings of Joy ! THANK YOU to everyone who got us off to sucha great start! We've got a ways to go to be able to fill 600 stockings with gifts, so please consider how you might get involved in bringing JOY to our older friends living alone this December!

We are grateful for every type of donation, but this evening we want to give a shout out to those who give so generously through their Donor Advised Funds! The work of EOC is greatly advanced by our donor friends who recommend a grant to Elder Orphan Care through their DAF.

Although today is designated as a national day of action for Donor Advised Funds, you can donate ANY DAY of the year through your DAF, or any other means! elderorphancare.com/give

Here at EOC we are grateful for so many reasons, including these!

** Each month our friends in EOC's Cabarrus County "Safe and Loved at Home" program receive these items (or whichever ones from these they need and request)

** The supplies are bagged up the day before delivery by hardworking volunteers under the direction of staff member Janna (and in this photo, friend and board member Ellen assisted!)

** The supplies are delivered by other friendly volunteers who often stay to visit with our EOC friends

** By receiving these items at no cost, our EOC friends then have funds to use for groceries or medications.

** These items are either donated by local groups, clubs, churches, companies or are purchased using grant funds (if you are local to Concord, NC, message us if you'd like the list so you too can collect or donate items!)

** Our supply pantry is located in an newly renovated space at Rebuilders Campus at Brown Mills Commons, thanks to our partnership with Cooperative Christian Ministry.

Did you know?
We named our therapy dog "Ajutor," which means "help, aid or assistance" in Romanian. We call him "Aji" for short!

Aji will never get to travel to Romania, where EOC began, but he sure brings lots of "help" where he lives in North Carolina, and from what we hear, just seeing a photo of him on facebook, from wherever you live, often brings a smile 😃
