Monument Impact

Monument Impact Monument Impact is a community-based nonprofit based in Concord and Antioch.

We provides resources and in-house programs, including rental assistance, small business guidance, and health services, for low-wage workers and families. Located in Concord, CA, Monument Impact serves one of the most densely populated communities in the Bay Area. With nearly a quarter of Concord residents living in this one neighborhood, there is a great need for social change. Monument community

residents frequently find themselves largely isolated from the broader community, as they lack the information about what is available and the transportation to get there. Fortunately, we are located in the diverse area of Contra Costa County and are surrounded by organizations that specialize in serving minorities and disadvantaged residents. From English classes to legal rights, from health care services to drug awareness, many organizations make use of the Monument Impact facilities to offer workshops at low cost or free, to help residents become self sufficient, healthy and economically stable.

US THEN & US NOW

Same mission. Same community. Same belief that every family deserves a fair shot.

For 25 years, we've been walking alongside our community—supporting families in navigating housing challenges, licensing their small businesses, and accessing health care.

We've build such collective power over the years. And the work continues.

Invest in our work by supporting the Stronger Together Gala on October 1.

Every ticket and sponsorship helps us continue creating opportunities for the families and communities we serve.

Men in our programs getting pampered — many whom work in harsh working conditions 🥹

For generations, men have been taught to be strong, brave, and resilient, often carrying responsibilities quietly and putting the needs of others before their own. Yet, like everyone else, they face physical, emotional, and mental challenges that are not always visible.

This past Sunday, we had the privilege of celebrating and pampering the men in our programs. It was a day filled with laughter, connection, great food, games, and fresh haircuts. More importantly, it was an opportunity to remind them that they are valued, appreciated, and deserving of care.

We want to share our deep appreciation for the Lesher Foundation for their continued support, which allows us the resources to curate these wellness initiatives. Thank you also to our very own Resource Coordinator, Tania, and Angel for volunteering their skills and time to provide haircuts. 💛💛

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible volunteers, Tania and Angel, for generously sharing their time, talents, and kindness to make this event so special. We are also deeply grateful to the Lesher Foundation for its continued support and commitment to helping us create meaningful experiences for our community.

The people of Pittsburg are speaking out — and local leaders are turning their cheeks.

Despite widespread community concerns about water consumption, energy demands, noise pollution, increased traffic, and environmental impacts, the City of Pittsburg is moving forward with plans for a 300,000-square-foot data center on the former Delta View Golf Course site.

The photos above reflect the voices of tenant leaders, residents, families, and neighbors who have made their concerns clear. There are other areas Pittsburg City Council need to focus their efforts.

Many parents have spoken about their pride in Pittsburg and the trails, open space, and the delta that makes this city special.

“Our kids and families have thrived without this data center. We don’t need it.”

This decision will have lasting impacts on our neighborhoods, resources, and future. Once this project moves forward, the consequences cannot easily be undone. The community is demanding that decision-makers listen to the residents who will be most affected—not corporate interests.

Look out for the petition link and help challenge this project. Every signature strengthens our collective voice and shows that Pittsburg residents are paying attention.

We will continue organizing, speaking out, and holding decision-makers accountable to the communities they serve.
The time to act is now. Stay tuned for next steps.

Yesterday, community members, advocates, and community partners packed the Equity Committee meeting in hopes of moving the County’s Non-Cooperation Policy with ICE into an ordinance.

After more than a year of public comment and over an hour of public comment at yesterday’s meeting, the Equity Committee did not make any changes. While Supervisor Scales-Preston publicly expressed support for pursuing an ordinance (rather than policy), the Committee ultimately voted to send the existing policy to the full Board of Supervisors for further discussion.

Many leaders and community members are disappointed that the ordinance was not advanced. Elected officials are voted in to protect and represent the community — they need to do better. We will continue advocating for the reinstatement of the original ordinance language and stronger protections for our communities.

Stay tuned.
