The worst day of Eric Redmon's life became the reason he's helping so many other families through theirs. ❤️
He was just 16 years old, driving to a friend's birthday party in Commerce, Georgia, when a devastating car accident nearly took his life.
Eric spent months at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, recovering from a traumatic brain injury and facing a long, difficult road back.
That was more than 23 years ago.
Today, Eric is making sure other children facing serious medical challenges have someone in their corner.
His friends call him "Radio" because he's always loved to talk.
And goodness, does he have something wonderful to say.
"Keep fighting, keep pushing, stay in the fight! Every day is a new adventure, just don't quit!"
Eric and his family created the Eric Redmon Foundation to help other families facing medical hardships.
They raise money for Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta, support children at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Jackson County and help families affected by traumatic brain injuries.
And here's something especially meaningful.
The family's annual golf tournament originally started in 2003 to help pay Eric's medical bills.
Now, that same tournament raises money to help other families keep their loved ones close during medical treatment.
Eric recently presented another donation to Ronald McDonald House, helping provide a place for parents to stay while their children receive care.
He even wrote a book about his recovery called “Life's a Party”.
More than two decades after the accident that nearly took his life, Eric is still finding ways to make life a little easier for someone else.
And for a man nicknamed Radio, there's something especially beautiful about using his voice to make sure other children never run out of encouragement. ❤️
